@zax thanks for the info but it seems like i still haven’t received it through e-mail. any other ust-ers who have not received it either?

hello everyone, is there anyone here being accepted in BEng in Comp. sc.
Can someone tell me how is the program for an international student?
If anyone knows, how are the placements in various companies.
Are students from all around the world coming this year?

Hi there =)! I’m Malaysian. I was offered the BBA programme at HKUST. I read through the previous messages in this thread - seems I wasn’t the only one freaking out about the arrival of the package!! Really looking forward to August =D

is it possible to negotiate wid the schools
if i dun meet the condition?
HKU said i;ll get automatically rejected…
is it treu…?

@rubicinho: i don’t think there is a room to negotiate. The conditions they give you
is the minimum requirement you will have to fulfill.

Hey
AP Macro 5
AP Physics b 5
AP Calculus bc 5
(sub) calculus ab 5

See you in HKU

rubichino great!!! I just got my scores too! over the phone right when it struck midnight lol i called right away for the automated scores(maybe you did this too?) and o man such a big relief now that i know i met conditions. just gotta get a plane ticket and hope that visa goes through…

hey, is it difficult to enter HKU for business or any finance related courses if your international student? im a singaporean student although i lost my british citizenship after the handover…does that give me an advantage? the fact that i was once a citizen of HK? lols…anyway, straight to the point,

would your happen to know the average IB scores to enter HKU for finance?

has anyone in the US found a place that will give student loans? since there’s no way for financial aid because of the weird HKU lost its number thing.

hermann, sorry i dont know, im sure someone on this thread has an idea?

I am disgusted right now.
I have almost taken the decision to got to hkust BEng and was waiting for their reply about the scholarship. They said I would have got a scholarship , if I had submitted my documents on time, actually i submitted them in starting June as my result came around that time, so they cannot hold scholarships and so cannot offer me this year.
Now I want to know If I get good grades suppose A+(i dont think its that difficult to get it if you study regularly and I don’t know if that is the highest grade) will i get a scholarship next year and Is there a possibility that I get a full scholarship next year.Pls advice , its urgent…

Read next post.

Hermann: I think the typical offer is about 34-40 points for the ib, depending on what courses you are applying for - do note that applicants tend to have higher than the average conditional offer. Courses such as BBA Law and IBGM - you would be expecting 40 points as an offer. It is relatively easier if you are an international student (ie. no Hong Kong citizenship or any other sort of affiliations) because of less competition.

^^

ahh, that im sure i can conver up! hmm…i thought that HKU would be the best place in Asia to study finance, at least for now…but 35 points on average seems/sounds kind of manageable? i dont know now for sure though!

Pls someone reply to my previous post…

@niksy : Sorry to hear that. You should direct your question to the university instead.
They are pretty proficient.

@meekle I cannot find any other ways for financial aid. The only thing I have done was to write an appeal letter to increase my award for international entrance scholarship. The deadline for me to reply is fall on 8th of July.

Ok so I recieved the Student Package via email a few days ago and it seems that the days between our arrival (23rd) and 1st Sept are jam packed with activities. Im looking forward to it.

If you want you can download the pdf file if you havent gotten it via email already.

hello everyone,
I just talked to one of the professors in HKUST and now I am worried.
He says there is not enough competition among students in HKUST ie. student quality is not good. Is that true?
