" Reputation is what really matters, and Tech doesn't have any business reputation."

That statement is udderly wrong, and I hope no one believes in this. Reputation means little to nothing in your career/life as a whole accept for your first job. Even then, if you go to a good graduate school, that is what the employer will be looking at. What matters is that you get a good solid undergrad education which prepares you.

Althought it may be tempting, don't let your college selection process be clouded by "prestige" or "reputation"

first jobs are important, a higher first job means a higher second job and a better 3rd job and so on.

what gets u into a good graduate school? reputation of undergrad schools matter here too.

prestige and reputation are not EVERYTHING but they are what alot of people base their decisions on. go check this board, they're filled with ppl "WHAT ARE MY CHANCES AT IVIES!!!" etc. etc.

If I major in accouting it's a 5 year Bacehlor's/master's program, which means I wouldn't have to look at graduate schools and I'd still come out with a Master's.

Wait, what's the point of asking for your chances when you've already applied?
Do you think Virginia tech's admission commitee is browsing college confidential boards looking for help on whether to admit a candidate or not?

Just relax dude and let things play out as they are. You've already applied so nothing else to do but wait. If everyone on this board says you can get in, does that really matter? What if everyone on this board said you can't get in, that doesn't matter either since you've already applied and its the choice of the admissions comittee.

mmk first of all, it's not that hard to get in, out of state wise. and pamplin college of business is one of the top 10% best business schools in the country. tied wiht texas a&m. for finance. duke, your retarted and whoever started this thread, good luck

I think she meant VT business (pamplin) isn't that hard to get into. However, VT honors isn't that hard either; its almost purely numbers based.
