Hong Kong ppl unite!!

that old airport....ah...crappy but pretty cool

Remember that long slope right after you come out of the arrival gate?......I love it....

And the damn buses that you have to take before boarding the airplane....used to hate it, but now I don't even have a chance to take those buses anymore......

yeah. nostalgia hits quite often whenever i go back to HK.. LOL actually the first thing that comes to mind if you talk abt old airport is that scene between Jessy and that police guy To Dai Yu (sp?!) played on that tv serial. Dunno why ahahaha...

LOL we-lll... you got the overall idea right I guess. Hahahaa

lol yea yea yea.....
but i dunno about the TV serial that u mentioned...
Anyway, IMO, those cantonese TV serials are pretty.....LAME. :)

They used to be so much better when I was young! Now all the dialogue is so predictable and recycled. Perhaps it's also that I've grown up and have a different perspective of things...

Ah, childhood days. Haha and does anyone remember the load of cartoons/anime you swallowed along with your baby food? :D

SLAM DUNK
10char

Cyber Formula. :)

never watched anime in my life!! so are most of you HK chinese or dya just live in HK like me?

i'm from hk too=)

hey all..i'm from hong kong too. just out of curiosity, where do you guys study? i study in kgv...
i'm probably going to usc, which is a joke to hk people. oh well. LOL my sats weren't that good. otherwise i applied to UK as well, might go to nottingham...but i can't really be bothered with my a levels. haha. otherwise i also got accepted into york, newcastle, loughborough...and i got rejected from the UCs i replied. oh well.

i'm gonna miss HK =(

hey nymph i go to HYS, which is rite next to kgv... never thought abt goin to the UK cuz i dont like the weather : p im goin to Wesleyan in CT, really really envy the nice weather in california cuz the snowing season lasts for 5 months up there in the Northeast region. sigh.

Cool it's a small world... I have a friend at kgv but I studied my A Levels in Singapore.

nymph, usc won't be able to replace hk but it's really neat in its own way! Here's to hoping that you'll have the time of your life there. :)

oo what's your friend's name?
haha this is a small world.....
well, more like gonna miss hk, cause of friends and the current situation and all. US shopping...cant wait!! haha

"US shopping can't wait"? LOL nymph you are fascinating! I thought shopping in HK was better than at Abercrombie & Fitch anyday. But that's just me :p I'll PM my friend's name over.

hi, im not from hong kong, but im considering studying abroad there. would you recommend me to study abroad in hong kong? my other option is china/peking. (political science, international relations, or business).

also just curious, how well-regarded is UCLA in hong kong?

thanks!

most HK ppl know UCLA and think its a one of the well known US colleges, compared to LACs (cuz most ppl are surprised at my decision of declining UCLA and heading for Wesleyan). The buz program at HKUST is one of the best ones in Asia, its MBA program is ranked no.1 in asia i think... intl relations or poli sci arent very popular in HK though. but HK is a great city, energetic and full of new discoveries. great food and shopping too. thats why i'm gonna seriously miss HK :(

hell no, US shopping is much better, in my opinion anyways. haha i've always loved US shopping, since i was like 12...before that i would've wanted to shop for toys in the US. haha. hk doesn't even have steve madden or VS....***. haha

UCLA is pretty well regarded, in my opinion it's just below ivy leagues...but it depends on the major, overall it's hard to get in, especially if you're international/out of state. well, i've never actually been to beijing, but hk is definitely fun, esp for foreigners! and it'll probably be easier to get around hk with english as being so widespread, however, if you want to learn a language for any reason, mandarin would be more useful.

kfc4u, your other option is Beijing University? In terms of academia, that's a brillaint place to go! So even though (everyone repeat after me now) HK rocks, if you're looking to learn more in the classroom Beijing might be a better pick. Otherwise, it's HK all the way!!

Haha if I wanted to go toy-shopping I'd pick London's Harrod's. :)

as jurily mentioned earlier, if you're doing business choose hkust. hahaha.

the pound has gone up the ceiling tho! it's crazy, i won't be able to buy anything in the UK. and the only brands i know of are miss selfridge, topshop, and we have miss sixty in hk.....idon't know anything else.
the weather sucks too. haha

LOL yeah the pound has gone up like mad. The dollar, on the other hand... it's probably gonna be cheaper studying in the US now than it ever was for us.
