Just saw these posts and will tell my D to check her spam folder in the am. Thanks for sharing the info!

Anyone else still waiting on Honors College? My D was admitted EA and they then asked her to apply to Honors College, which she did. We still haven’t heard anything. I called today and they said she is “still in committee.” They said they are trying to notify everyone by April 1, but it might be mid- April. With all the info in from all her other schools, it is hard to sit and wait to make a decision!

@KellyLJ1 …My D is in the exact same position. She was admitted EA and they also asked her to apply to Honors College . We haven’t heard anything either. She was going to contact the school tomorrow if we didn’t hear anything today, which we didn’t. Did you hear anything about merit/scholarship money? She loves the school but is confused as to why she hasn’t heard back sooner especially since they asked her to apply. Seems a little odd.

No, @salsrl, I am assuming that merit money is tied to them deciding whether she is accepted into honors college. She also auditioned for a theatre scholarship back in January. We have heard nothing from them either. She emailed them last week and they said “we just found out how much money we have, so we are working on it now.” So we have no idea when those scholarships will be determined either.

KellyLJ1…Thank you for the info. I guess we just sit and wait patiently :((

My son stopped by the Honors College Saturday during Accepted Student Weekend. Second hand from him -

They have been sitting on the files and will start reevaluation of all Wait list students and review new applications this Monday (3/24). They plan to have decisions out by April 1.

They couldn’t tell him where on the wait list he was, everyone gets a fresh look this week. They told him typically 50% off wait list is accepted all depends on what came in since EA.

Keep in mind this is filtered through the head of a 17yr old boy, but it made us feel optimistic and means we will be really anxious next week.

Very interesting. My D was admitted EA and was asked by the college to apply to HC and did so back in the beginning of January. She has had no response from them other than to say they received everything. Hate to think they have been sitting on her application for 2 1/2 months. Doesn’t say a whole lot about the program…

Still haven’t heard anything about either the Honors College or the theater scholarship. Anyone else?

If you haven’t done so already, give the Honors College a call. After we sent the additional essay in, we received an email stating they would get our teacher recommendations and rest of info from the admissions dept. We were told they had everything and then assumed they did. After about 10 weeks, we contacted the Honors Dept. to find out they never pulled her resume and they had her file as incomplete. (This was last week) My D immediately sent it. We were told all decisions will be finalized this week and next. Good Luck!

We have still not heard back about the theater scholarship that my D auditioned for, nor have we heard back from the Honors College to which they asked her to apply. We have moved on and my daughter has put in her deposit at another school. Best of luck to all of you!

@KellyLJ1 We finally heard back from the Honors College which my D was also asked to apply. After 2 months, she was rejected. They said they had many qualified applicants and only room for 200. We have also moved on. If you don’t mind me asking, where did your D decide to go?

@SALSRL, my D will be attending Emerson College in Boston this fall. We just returned from admitted student day last Friday and she is very excited!

@KellyLJ1 That’s wonderful. Great school! Best of luck to her. We are making our final decision between Honors College at UNCW and regular program at USC Columbia. She visited UNCW last weekend at will be at USC this weekend. Do you know anything about either program? Any thoughts or opinions?
