Has anyone received notification that they have been accepted into the Honors Program? Applied for UHP in October and received confrimation email but still have not heard from them.

Since many have asked this will post email received after DS asked this question last week.

Dear XXX,

If your test scores were high enough (28 and above for ACT, 1250 and above for SAT), and if you received the initial confirmation e-mail, then you have been accepted into the UHP. The official acceptance letter has recently been updated, and so has gone through an unfortunately lengthy editing process, which explains why you have not received it yet. I apologize for the delay, and if you have any other questions please feel free to ask.

Sincerely,

Edward Mostoller

Undergraduate Student Assistant

My son did not receive a confirmation e-mail. Should there be some type of follow-up on his part. thanks

Have your child contact Jami Gates and ask if he’s been admitted to the Honors College. Have you checked all emails? Personal? Crimson email?

When did your child apply to honors?

It was on the Crimson e-mail. Did not even know it existed - thanks.

^^^

You can have Crimson email forwarded to a personal acct.

DD did not get a letter but did get a card from Dean Sharpe inviting her to “join him for a special visit to explore Honors College…”

Also, she got a letter from Dr. Morgan inviting her to apply for the UFE which has being a member of the Honors College as a prerequisite.

Strange that no letter was sent; perhaps its in the pile of college stuff heading for the recycling center. Ill check tonight.

osdad, see post#2 in this thread, the letters have not gotten out so as long as you have the requisite test scores and received a confirm of the app (in your crimson mail) you are in.

Thanks. That will save me the threat of being buried alive when the pile falls on me…

I didn’t notice the date of the email in your post so was just relaying DD’s experience to help others.

:) it’s all good - roll tide!

Yes, always check Crimson mail. :)

If no email, then call Jami at the contact info above.

FYI, DD just got her acceptance letter for UHP & IHP today. The letter was dated November 30th but not postmarked until December 10th. She never saw anything on her Crimson email either, and was planning on emailing Jami Gates on Monday. Guess that’s crossed off the list now :)

That is odd. But I did hear that they were having some issue with getting out paper acceptances.

congrats robd and d! when did she submit her app to honors?

Thanks! She submitted her Honors app on November 8th, P56.

thanks, son was about 20 days later! so that helps with an idea of time frame.

D had the same exact timeline that RobD mentioned…wondered why it took 10 days to mail that letter out. That’s why we noticed it.

^^^

I think the document file was produced in November, but then they had some odd problem with getting the letters printed. We heard rumblings about some issue - don’t know if they were out of letterhead or what. I find it hard to believe that it would be an actual printer problem, since they have more than one printer. LOL Was there any unique or specific info on the letter? (I’m wondering if they were waiting to find out if Dr. Sharpe would be named permenant dean before printing or something like that.)

So, when the documents were finally printed, the old November date was still on the file. I guess no one thought, “gee, we should change the date, otherwise it will look like we really used snails to mail.” ;)

I applied for Honors about 3 weeks ago and I haven’t received any notification of my acceptance whatsoever. So just now I went back to the app and clicked “resubmit,” hopefully this time it will come.

^^^^

I would email Jami Gates and tell her that you submitted your honors app a few weeks ago, but haven’t heard anything. Tell her that you’ve resubmitted your Honors app today. Ask her to check to see if it was rec’d.
