Yes, I’m the one in Downingtown, PA (21st Century Cyber Charter School). @NJRoadie I do have 19 others I am submitted applications for, but most of them are state or local scholarships ranging from $500-$5,000. Nothing as large as this one!

My son applied and was notified he was a semi finalist. However he didn’t receive a national scholarship. I wonder if being a semi finalist boosts his chances of a state scholarship?

I don’t believe the state scholarships have been announced yet.

@MaybeUNC2022 my foster son was a state winner in 2015, and I believe his notification was in late January.

So they announce the winners and don’t even tell the others that it’s over?

@ambkeegan They’ve only announced National Winners. They haven’t announced State Winners Yet.

Has anyone been notified about the state scholarships? I keep checking the Horatio Alger website where they posted the national scholars, but the state page just says “will be notified in January 2018” I would find it odd that states would be different than national’s, as the day national’s were notified they were posted online

I have not been notified at all. I assumed I did not win it, but it is comforting to know that I am not the only one.

I would imagine that the delay is likely due to the large donation they received a few days ago. Either (1) this has just made them especially busy or (2) they don’t want to crowd out their own news cycle. It is also possible not all the states have turned in the selections, so they are delaying while they wait for stragglers?

Looks like the website was updated stating state winners to be announced in February 2018.
