I attended ASD and was (thankfully) able to see a room in each of the halls of the Quad. I noticed that each hall has different things that it offers (A/C, pushpin boards, mirrors, etc.) so I am anxious to know which particular hall I'll be staying in (of course, who isn't?)
I'm curious to find out when we will know our housing assignments?

New dorms aren’t even finished as of now so no one knows what they will be like. There’s pros and cons to both the annex and the QUAD. I personally lived in the Quad in a triple (AC!) but only ended up with one roommate. I loved it and I found the lack of personal space encouraged me to get out and meet people rather than holing up. I also loved the court yard. I’d never lived in the city before and didn’t feel safe when i was alone outside so the courtyard was a kind of haven. The annex has better amenities but I find there’s a lot less community in most cases. Personally, I needed the community to help me adjust, but if you’re more social or can’t stand the idea of sharing a bathroom with a floor full of girls go annex.

QUAD
Pros: Long standing tradition, community, great ResFest teams, more people = more potential friends, gated in courtyard
Cons: May or may not have AC, shared bathrooms and showers, only a few shared microwaves, elevators can be finicky
Annex:
Pros: New building, more privacy, suite style living, cafeteria on bottom floor, AC in all rooms, great dance team
Cons: Less community, no fenced court yard, supply and clean your own bathroom, more floors (when elevators go out this sucks)
