Housing contract question

Hi

I'm thinking about moving out of campus in the spring semester. Is it possible to pay only for the fall semester and move out of the room by the end of it?

thanx

According to <a href=“Residential Life | Student & Campus Life | Cornell University”>Residential Life | Student & Campus Life | Cornell University; (look at section IV), you would actually have to stay there for a year, and you may cancel it with penalties (everything is said there). Try to find some threads or posts about it here as well.

Most likely not. Housing only releases people without penalty if they’re graduating, taking a leave of absense, or for other serious things.

Like others have said, it’s highly unlikely that you will be let out of your housing contract without a very good reason. I had one friend who was release from her contract, but she had a medical reason.
