I know that housing has been touched on a bit in other threads, but it's probably easier if housing has its own topic.

I'm looking to live in an awesome, Gothic house with private bathrooms. Finding the toilet already filled with urine, or even a few floaters, every time I go to the bathroom for an entire year is not my idea of fun. My mother raised me to be a man principled in the art of bathroom etiquette, what can I say?

So that narrows my choices down to Broadview, Palevsky, Shoreland, and possibly B-J (The one guide says that "some" rooms have a private bath (and/or fireplace! What the funk...). And since I have some unhealthy fixation on the Gothic architecture scattered around campus, I'd really prefer Broadview, Shoreland, or B-J over Palevsky.

B-J would be awesome with a mess hall right within its confines, and they offer singles if I were to choose that risky option of solitude. Plus the Law Library is right next door if kids start blasting too much Vivaldi while I'm cramming. Like I said before, though, I'm not sure that private bathrooms for freshmen are possible at B-J, even for EA'ers.

Broadview is everything I want, and all rooms have private bathrooms. However it's a bit farther from campus than B-J.

Shoreland, although the farthest from campus (or so its "on the lake shore" location implies), seems like my favorite so far since B-J's bathroom situation is hazy. International print and T.V. media would be perfect for strengthening the one or two foreign languages I plan to continue mastering. Private bathrooms in all rooms, and they offer some triples. If I am not going to go for a single, I might as well hit up a triple-jobber. If I don't like one roomate, maybe the other one will be dec. :)

Post your thoughts on housing and the logic behind it.
