Yay, I can choose my roommate! :D

Boo ... I don't know anybody ... lol.

Yay, I can choose my roommate! :D

Boo ... I don't know anybody ... lol.

clairetine - if it is anything like last year there will be a pretty active "find my roommate" initiative on NYU's 2103 Facebook pretty soon :D

Alright. I'm going to look forward to that!

actually there's already a group dedicated to finding a roomie for NYU 2013-ers
i'm not sure of the exact name, but it's pretty large

I still don't see any info about this one on the Housing site. They still list U-Hall for freshman. With ED apps open as of tomorrow, what are you guys going to do if that's your dorm choice?

I just got used to the idea that UHall would not be a freshman dorm, and have decided on my top three based on that, so I will not be putting UHall down.
If in the end UHall IS a freshman dorm, then I guess it's too bad.... but like I said, I got myself used to the idea so I won't be too disappointed

Oh, sorry... misread.

I'm not taking the chance on 12th street... I've tried looking for photos of the inside of the rooms in that building, and I've had no luck.

DId any ED kids get the email packet today. It said Noon but nothing in NYU email ...

I didn't get the email or mail packet, but I was able to fill in the Housing Form at noon today anyway.
Sign into NYUHome, and if you don't already have a box on your homepage that's for Housing, go to "Channels" (top right), and select the Channels or boxes you want on your homepage at all times... select the Housing one, and save the changes. You will then see a link for the Forms on your page (there are other ways of getting to the Housing site, but this way makes future access easier and is therefore slightly better in my opinion).
...and that's it!

By the way ccsmom, when I picked my choices (you number them 1 - 5... or 6, can't remember), it was done with a drop down menu. UHall was not on the list but 12th Street was. You have to list all buildings once. Hope that helps!

My daughter says there is nothing but a message that say check back your stuff isn't there.

I guess it's going to take a while for the link to the forms to be activated for everyone... I wouldn't think that it would take longer than a day (two tops), but just like with mass emails, the sending process takes a while as stuff is sent out in chunks.

Just for everyone's benefit, the group is called Find an NYU Roommate! 2013 Edition (not that you all haven't seen it already!)
And does anyone know when they'll finalize the 09-10 rates?

btp11 - Your info was invaluable as otherwise would not have figured out how to get the housing forms to show up. D signed up with her roommate--you need each other's NETID to complete a match. Thanks so much!!

PS - It's kind of obnoxious that they charge a $25 "service fee" on top of the $1,000 deposit.

they only charge that fee if you pay by credit card. No charge for paying by electronic (or paper) check. They do the same for tuition. The payments are processed by a third party vendor and this charge is THEIRS not NYU

NYU > Department of Housing

the housing rates for next year can be found in a pdf file here

So, If you paid a housing deposit ED you have to pay another $1000? or did I read the letter wrong.

^ Yes. It's all going towards your total tuition bill, so it really doesn't matter in the end.

yeah i got my letter today. it was mailed out march 16th.

but um... this is a hard choice...

i went down to either:
1. rubin
2. Hayden

or 1. Hayden
2 rubin

:(

also if you want to see the prices or rates for housing:
http://www.nyu.edu/housing/pdfs/2009_2010Urates.pdf

so expensive!!!
what do you guys think?

oh also, does anyone know how the "LOW COST" option works? does it automatically place you in the Triple-1 room; 3 students?

Should I be worried if I didn't get a housing info yet? Or they still sending them out?

when did you get accepted nyjeo? i got accepted ED

i got in ED and I still haven't received any info at all... =/
