Housing is the last thing to go out. First acceptances, the FA award. Send in the housing deposit, then you get a packet for housing.

I got accepted Early Decision. =[.

Was the housing deposit the deposit we sent in December when we got accepted? the 500+300?

If not I got no info about any new deposit.

NyJeo,

I got in NYU ED and I got my housing info and deposit information in the mail on friday. The 500+300 deposit is not the same as the housing deposit($1000).

Even though I got my info on friday I was able to access my housing application a few days earlier by going to my NYU Home account and clicking on the 'channels' link at the top and selecting the housing box which will then show up on your home page

I tried the NYUHOMe thing but it gave me this "Your details were not found. Please try again or contact the University directly"

I guess I will call NYU tomorrow.

NyJeo-

Do you have a NYUhome account?

If you don't go here: https://start2.nyu.edu/ibin/getnetid1.cgi to activate an account and then try logging in.

I've already filled in the housing app and everything, sent in my deposit, etc. I still haven't gotten the info yet, though.
I guess the point of the info was just to let us know how to access/fill in the app, and now that it's done I don't really NEED the packet... but it still makes me anxious that I haven't gotten it yet.

Yea Chuckie I already activated my account. I guess its something wrong on NYU part.

nyu housing links’ not working right now?

Hi everyone… so I filled in the housing App and sent in the deposit the day it all became available (whenever that was exactly). I keep checking back to see the status of it all, and it says my App is fully completed, but that they still haven’t received the deposit. It says the information regarding the deposit would be available starting today, which is why I’m now getting nervous. Maybe it’s still too early for them to have processed it (did they only start today?) but I paid online, so I find that kind of weird. Anyone else having the same issue??
When should I write them about this, in a couple of days, right?

Ya I don’t get it. I made my nyu e-mail and that netid is my netid for housing right? Is my password different because it’s not letting my apply for housing.

your net id is your net id for EVERYTHING. housing, health services, blackboard, etc. it’s all the same.

How long does it normally take for all the housing forms to be available? My NYUHome is pretty bare still and I sent in my SIR a few days ago.

i still can’t access housing forms and I sent in my deposit on April 7th. NYU Home’s updated for me though, showing more tabs like Stern, Files, etc.

maybe it takes time for them to register our deposit. I just sent mine in a couple of days ago so it makes sense for that I can’t really navigate the site.

Is there a better chance at getting the hall you want if you accepted admission sooner?

If anything, I think it would be contingent upon when you complete your housing forms and pay your deposit rather than when you accept admission. I hope that we all have equal opportunity regardless of even the date of our housing deposit, but I bet that’s wishful thinking.

The best way to get the dorm of your choice is to apply for any of the residential programs for the dorms that you want.

how do apply for a residential program

They are really called explorations. You will get in mail info about the different exploration program that each dorm offers. One of the programs my D dorm offered was photography, she requested it and got in. There are all kinds of explorations, bohemian and rebels, french house, etc.

Does anyone know how to request four roommates on the housing forms? It says students can request up to three roommates, but after two it says I have requested the maximum number. We have four guys for a quad and I’d be really bummed if we couldn’t get the fourth guy in with us. Thanks in advance
