How competitive is Physics for the UC’s?

Is physics a very competitive major in UCLA/UCB/UCSB/UCI ? OOS applicant with 4.15 UC Capped GPA ?

UCB: Physics is in the College of Letters and Sciences and since it is not a high demand major, the College does not admit by major.

UCSB:
Physics is in the College of Letters and Sciences which does not admit by major. The admit rate for the College of L&S was 27% with an average UC Fully weighted GPA of 4.40.

UCI:
UCI admits into the University first and then into the major. 2022 admit rate for Physics was 33.8%. Overall campus GPA admit ranges:

Are they affordable?
There is no STATE financial aid available to nonresidents. This means $67k per year.

You are welcome. Just and FYI about OOS admit rates. For many of the UC campuses the OOS admit can be high but the yield (enrolled) rates for OOS students is low usually do to the affordability factor.
