Physics major at UCB UCLA and UCSD

I’m applying as a physics major to all of the above schools among others. I was wondering if anyone has any idea as to the acceptance rate for physics majors. Freshman not transfers. Also if you do have some idea of how this major affects admissions please chance me!
Sat 2270 (720 CR 800 M 750 W)
Gpa UC weighted 3.9

Also sat II Physics 800 math 2 780
Baseball for 4 years but not much else. Self taught guitar and piano.
Solid essays. I think I described my passion for physics well

Google “common data set UCSD” and the other schools. This doc was found rather easily http://studentresearch.ucsd.edu/_files/stats-data/admissions/freshmen/hssat.pdf

The admissions website for each school explains how a major such as physics is factored into admissions. I suggest you take a look.

T26E4 I was looking more for an idea of acceptance rates per major but thanks

UCSD: high match/low reach
UCB/LA: reaches, mainly because they are more holistic

And you’re looking for this data because you haven’t bothered reading the admission websites to see how a applicant applying with a major like physics is evaluated.

can you post a link? I’m not finding it

http://admission.universityofcalifornia.edu/counselors/files/freshman-admission-matrix.pdf describes whether intended major matters for frosh admission selectivity at the various UCs.

a simple search such as “ucla freshman selection” does the trick…

Or from a page like http://www.admission.ucla.edu/ select the link “applicants” (that’s you) and then on the page that pops up select the link “How UCLA selects its freshman class” because that’s what you said you care about. Then read the page carefully, and voila

repeat for other schools.

You sound a little salty mikemac. Also what I was actually looking for was acceptance rates by major if any of the colleges make this data available. I assume there’s some difference in acceptance rate between com majors and physics majors but I may be mistaken. Thanks anyways

SAT is about average for LA and B, and GPA is low. So I would say LA and B is a reach and SD you have a decent chance
