How do you get your UCLA Loans?

Hey guys, very quick question, I just got my revised eFan today and aside from some grant money I got ~3000 total loan options and I was wondering if I accept those loans how exactly will I get them? Do they come to me as checks I decide how to spend? Do they go straight to my Bruin account and have restrictions placed upon them etc? Thanks for the replies. I just want to be sure.

It’ll get disbursed to you just like financial aid normally does (i’m assuming you’re not a freshman) if you set up bruinDirect (highly recommend doing so) then all you have to do is wait for the money to be deposited in your account. There are no restrictions on them, although ideally you’ll spend them on whatever will help you out for school.

you need to take a loan program though to get loans just to make sure you understand the differences between the loans (it’s not that bad, shouldn’t take more than an hour.)

Thanks for the info. That’s what I assumed just wanted to make sure.

Also, I am indeed a freshman at UCLA, I was class of 2011 HS so I just wanted to know how the system worked. I was also wondering, does UCLA distribute funds to your account every quarter or does it give you the year’s aid in one “lump sum” or can you pick?
Thanks for clearing these things up for me.
