Got a 15 page paper due in 2 weeks. I'm getting a C in a class...something my parents won't be too happy of.
I have to study for SAT IIs...mainly physics..just started so I'm cramming which makes stress even worse.
And got to worry about college apps!! Ahhh

I make jokes to myself. Read the Newspaper, Do the Crossword puzzle. Hang out with friends on weekends. Play poker. Talk in class. Make jokes in class.

I have a 10 page paper due in 2 weeks on LSD for my Psychology class at a University, a Psychology exam in 3 weeks, I have a critique to start on The Scarlet Letter, I need to finish reading the Scarlet Letter in order to do the critique, I have an ap biology and an ap calculus test every week sometimes twice a week, I have applications and essays to three top colleges to do, and I've been stressing about hearing from my ED school which is still 3 weeks away. So yeah, I have stress too. But I'm doing fine.

I studied for the SAT II's over 3 nights 2 weeks ago, the wednesday before, the thursday before, and the friday before. I used sparknotes.com's free prep books and tests. Just make multiple accounts to take the tests with. I raised Biology from 570 practice to 670 real, Math IIC from 670 practice to 740 real, and Writing from 640 practice to 740 real over three days!!!! If there's a will there's a way.

I think the concept of stress is overrated. With complex time planning, scheduling, and cutting back on pointless online message boards, you can really eliminate your stress. People get too caught up in the idea that they are stressed to consider ways to alleviate it.

haha- my feeble attempts a humor are getting out of hand.
but usually, i got out and do something I like to the lake and write poetry-however cliche' that might sound, I come back feeling rejuvinated.

I agree that the more you think about being stressed, the more stressed you will be. Just accept the fact that you have a lot of work, and then go to it. Harder than it sounds.

I tend to drive around aimlessly with the radio on to de-stress.

getting drunk will help you forget your problems and relieve your stress. Then when you sober up, you can focus on what you need to do without worrying too much. Just take a load off for a while and chill before you get back to work.

Forget about everything else you have to do and focus on one thing at a time. It also helps to get some change of scenery for concentration. Usually I can't focus at my house so I study at the library or sometimes even Starbucks. Try to be optimistic; focus on the positive rather than the negative while trying to keep things as positive as possible. If you find what you're doing boring, pretend it's interesting.

glowingamy, i feel the same way. i am never able to concentrate at my house, so i go to the library, or starbucks / borders if i really need to get school work done.

if you allow yourself to enjoy the weekends and either relax, or go out at night, i think a lot of your stress will disappear.

Just keep working. I don't run through the house screaming, i just sort of keep going. Doodle on Painter 7 for a while, then get back into it. If i'm tired, I go get some starbucks.
