How do you guys stay up late?

People are going to sleep around 12am, that's not staying up late!
Staying up late is like, past 2, which I've done a lot this year...it's awful, and cc really doesn't help =/

I always get DEAD tired by the end of the week even if I stay up past 1 am for ONE day. I always get over it though over the weekends, when I sleep about 10-11 hours per night. IT's a bad habit, but SO SO SO comfy especially with winter coming on and all that cold weather.

I don't know if I've ever stayed up past midnight to do any school work. I don't usually start homework until 7:30 or so but I still manage to get it done and be in bed by 11 at the latest. I know people who pull all-nighters several times a year and I honestly don't know how they do it. I can't function properly with under 6 hours of sleep.

I'm a freshman and we're seven weeks into school and I had to pull an all-nighter last night. I'm on my like seventh cup of coffee. And I must say, drinking alot of water so you stay up going to the bathroom all night works very well :) Last night was my first all-nighter... does it get any better? Or does it just get worse?

Bawls. thats all there is to it. drink that stuff and yur good to go.

Oh really? That's pretty awesome. Ha, I like the name. Bawls. Cool. See, the thing is, last night, I had a TON of coffee. It didn't really help... and no, it wasn't decaf :P I checked. Ughhh I hate being a freshman... parents are so annoying. They just don't get that teenagers don't go to bed at 8 and 9. It just doesn't happen. Wake up at 6 and get ready, do hw, whatever. leave at 7:30. soccer practice after school. Get home at 6. Homework for two hours. Dinner. Then the parental (lol) goes to bed and me and my brother stay up late. She comes wandering out like 2 hours later and tells us to go to bed. UUUGGGGHHHH. I have two big exams today. I'm going to fail horribly, I just know it. crying

oh yur a frosh? o man....well it does get better. actually im lying. it doesnt get better, you just get better at handling it. its good if you learn early what it takes to get by. an A- is still an A. so as you get farther into high school you'll learn what you can do and what u cant. like i can get an A in certain classes without studying but in others i have to work my butt off. you'll learn the system so dont worry. staying up late is overrated anyway. its only cool when yur partying. most hw can be half effort and still pass as a decent grade. remember that. and learn about your teachers. some teachers will practically do your hw for you if you just go in before school and say you need help. others are looking for specific thought processes (ie linear thinking patterns, creativity, etc). so get to know your teachers....thats all my senior advice gathered through the years summary.... :)

I seriously got used to staying up late after last year's massive AP cram-fest.

It's 2 AM right now here and I'm still on CC -_-"

Like what the above posters say, drink lots of water and make staying up a routine (although it's unhealthy). You get used to it after awhile.

Oh and I'm super reactive to caffeine, so I try not to drink that at night -- I'd be up the entire night and still have energy to spare on the next day if I drank, say, two cups of black coffee. I reserve caffeine for all-nighters (which I never pulled for academics though, but plenty for staying up with friends).

the best way to stay awake is to drink a truckload of coffee. It works for me. One cup makes me fall asleep(don't ask me why)...but several cups keep me awake for a long time.

if you have to pull an all-nighter, nap for 3 hours during the day before you do it. it really helps.

a 2 hour nap usually turns into 8 hours with me. Once I fall asleep..nothing can wake me up.

Redbull......

I don't.

(10 char)

Ice water+coffee, usually one all-nighter per semester.

I love how this thread has a two year gap in it.

Anyway, I say coffee plus occasional spurts of exercise plus iron self-motivation.

VAULT = LIFE

Drinks like a soda, KICKS like an energy drink.

"truckload of coffee", "cocaine" hahahahha
all I have to do is put a picture of Bill Clinton in front of me and the inspiration keeps me awake. Seriously, a great man he is.

neighbor's phone + friend in another country = night's short

I stay up for the sake of staying up (I guess that's why I'm suited to investment banking, since I can stay up all night for the hell of it). And then in the morning I'm not tired because I have to get in the car and drive my sister to school and then myself....I guess when my safety and my sister's safety are on the line, my self-protective instincts keep me from falling asleep at the wheel.

I think I'm going to try staying up and then napping in my car...the library gets too much traffic and when I try to sleep there people stare.

Over the summer I was taking Differential Equations and I always chilled with friends until around midnight. Then I did homework until about 4am. Woke up at 7:30am. I hated it and loved it at the same time. While I'm glad that I got out of the habbit, it was a great time in my life.

Caffeine + stretching a few times + lots of water (even though it will probably dilute the caffeine...) = good to go

EDIT: I hate how at my house, when it comes to be around midnight or so, my dad bugs me about getting to sleep. It deconcentrates me from my studying so much.

Although, I probably could pull off going to sleep at 11 everyday..... if I didnt have a life and didnt have a job and somehow could do nonstop studying and homework forever
