in classes?

Uh, why is a community college post in the Berkeley section? ._.

If you want to make friends, just introduce yourself to people. Show up for class a couple minutes early, say hi, make small talk, maybe make a few friends. If the teacher gives you breaks during class, say hi to the person next to you, or see if they want to study together sometime. I guess just generally be friendly?

You could also try joining clubs around campus. CC social life is usually pretty dead, but there’s probably a couple of student groups on campus. Seek them out, they’re more likely to be open to making friends. CC tends to have a lot of students that show up, go to class, and go home… those ones are harder to befriend. It’s easier at a 4 year school because people are always around… it’s a little harder to find friends at commuter schools.

If you’re asking this about Berkeley and not a CC, then the above points still apply, but also say hi to your neighbors! You know, those people that live right next door for the whole year? Yeah, most of them end up being pretty cool people too. :P

Or if school doesn’t have enough friendly folks around, go find friends off campus… there’s no rules saying you can only befriend people in your classes, or only those at your own school. If you’re having no luck there, go meet people elsewhere.
