How to make friends at a community college?

The headline pretty much says it all, How does one make friends at a typical community college with a student population that is exclusively commuters?

There might be some student organizations which may be of interest to you. Also, you might find some of your classmates in the library, where you might meet up and tackle homework assignments. Friends at CC’s are very objective-oriented – the vast majority are trying to transfer to a 4-year, and these are the people you want to meet.

Thanks.

Join clubs and talk to classmates. A lot of the people I knew were there for most of the day and I made friends with a lot of people in my major because we’d wind up with similar schedules.

I suggest you make studious friends just from personal experience. There are plenty of people who don’t get past community college, fail out, drop out, etc. Don’t make friends with dumb people at CC’s who bother you constantly for help either. I remember a girl trying to leech answers off of me all semester long because she could never do the work. Get involved in clubs and with the student government.
