<p>So I see people putting stuff like 5 hours of doing music/week or 2 hours of self-studying this/day or this or that on their college apps. Do you people actually measure the time you spent on ECs or do you just give estimates? And do you consciously try to manage your time such that you have a constant amount of hours/week or per day?</p>
<p>I just estimated. I made honest estimates of course. The worst ones to estimate for are the ones that are here and there with completely random schedules. In some cases I just put a total number of hours per year since it was not a nice routine.</p>
<p>I wouldn't worry too much about it. Just try your best to make honest estimations. And keep your format constant. They just want to have an idea what you ACTUALLY care about...</p>
<p>By the way, I definetly don't consciously try to make my schedule routine. It's such a frenzied mess. Plus I'm not very organized. Anyway, have fun filling out all the lovely apps! ;)</p>
<p>Just do the best estimate you can do.</p>
<p>Be HONEST and don't drive yourself crazy over it.</p>
