How do you remain alive after staying up late?

If I go to bed later than 1am I just can't sustain myself at school. Do you just have a gallon of coffee?

I don't drink coffee, but I've had to stay up way past 1am many times throughout HS [maybe in middle school as well, but I cant' remember back that far.. lol]. I have to wake up at 5:30, so obviously that makes it so that I don't get, really, any sleep. I just.. wake up and go to school.. Lol I don't really know what you mean by "remain alive".. because it's really not that difficult. Just take a nap or something when you get home?

And by nap she means sleep for 3 hours straight intermittently when you come home from school but by no means keep to a set schedule (or else you'll develop one of those pesky internal clocks!?!?) all the while maintaining a state of constant lethargy throughout the day.

Back to the OP -- make sure your bed-times and wake-up-times don't vary greatly between the days and try to go to sleep, erm, earlier? Manage your time well I say, and you shouldn't have these problems!

I didn't have a gallon of coffee, just three cups a day.

It doesn't really bother me until after school, when I have practice.

DOOMSTER SHUT UP!!!!! Lol. OP, don't listen to him, it's not like he knows my daily schedule or anything... lol

i wake up at 5:00 during swimming season for my nazi coach and go to bed at 12-1, its not that bad, I just sleep literally all of saturday.

If i were a prius: coffee = fuel. sleep = battery power

I've stayed up past 1 AM many times...I still survive....I dunno I guess after a while you body sort of adapts?

Coffee/Red Bull, and if you dare drinkcocaineshop.com/

...Don't stay up that late. That's the best solution. There's really no reason to unless you can't manage your time or you just picked a host of things to do yourself (I admit some rare cases/days there may be exceptions).

my mom doesn't let me drink coffee so I just do my homework up to 10-11pm then wake up at 5 am. the ac in my classwom wakes me up; it's so cold.

Back in high school I would usually stay up until around 1-2 AM and then get up at 6 AM. No coffee, no tea, would just have some toast and Ovaltine before going to school.

Six years or so later and I'm dying if I don't get at least six hours of sleep. How the times change. :(

i'm already like that:(

i try to go to bed by 9 if i can
haha
if not...i just roll out of bed and claw my way to school in the morning
i have a zero hour so school starts at 6:50 for me. i have to wake up at 5:30

^Yeah I'm a 5:30'er as well. We have to wake up in just 6.25 hours! Lololl

edit - wow I seriously need to go to bed... lol

I found that this year I can't make it through the day on 6 hours of sleep like I used to be able to do. Now I need more.

Epic fail.

FOr the people who go to bed before 12 almost everyday, do you have lots of hard classes? no offense:)

I find for myself that it's really hard to concentrate when everyone else is up and about, so for today I took a nap around 8 (when Daily Show's on!) and woke up at 9:30. It makes doing work late at night easier.

Trick is to get as much sleep in school as you can. Get to class early and take a powernap. Sleep in homeroom. Eat lunch quickly and sleep. Sleep while walking down the hall if its empty enough. Heck, even keep an eye closed during class and alternate.

Thats how I got through 3am bedtimes during junior year.
