How does Honors work?

Hey, I'm a little confused on the Honors program at VT. On the website they say that if you have a 1350(I have 1430) or 30 ACT(I have 33) with a 3.8 weighted(I probably have more), you will be mailed an invitation to Honors in January-March. However, the honors application is linked on the side. So, how does it work, do you have to wait for the invitation to start the application? Do they randomly send the invitation without a decision yet? Also, does major matter in Honors selection, as I applied to Pamplin for marketing. Thanks n advance for the help.

We received an invitiation in the mail this past weekend inviting D to apply for honors. It has a specific date to return the form, etc. So, I think you have to wait to be invited. I’m sure you will be. D has 1410 and 4.0

you definitely will get the invitation I have a 1330 SAT and 31 ACT and I got it last week
