How does move-in work?

I'm a little confused. So, we park in lot 7 and then unload our stuff onto carts. Then we take a shuttle to our dorms, where they will meet us with our stuff. Am I getting this right? I live in Saxon, by the way.

Sooo nervous about moving in.

dont be . . . nervous . sure its your first time but get over it .

^ and yes, thats how it works. They will load the carts onto a flat-bed truck, which will follow the shuttle up to the drop-off point.

why are you nervous? its really well organized.

Thanks for answering guys :D

I think I'm just nervous because I want my parents to approve of the school and have it really wow them. Also, I'm feeling kind of homesick already :/

you get there, give them a form of ID, they give u dorm info and keys..u sign go up drop off stuff and settle

i really feel homesick. lame, i know. >.<

I'm a tad confused by the Move-In video. At one point it said we needed someone to stay by the car while the another person moves everything in? This correct?

if you are using the turnaround, then the car cannot be left unattended.

if you are using a parking lot, then there should be a designated area where you can park and leave your car.

Aha! That clarifies everything. Thanks!

where can i find move in video??

Emucla, here you go!

OCH Video

Hey thank you ColorMe!! The vid is nice

my movein time's 7pm

can i go at like 9am?

im moving in today!!! later guys

it's ok to feel homesick, guys. =)

your home and your family will always be waiting for you, they won't go anywhere. i'm sure you'll make UCLA your second home.

i was in a 3rd world country by myself for the holidays. you get homesick until you realize that your family is waiting and that they will always be there and love you, no matter how far away you are and how long you are gone for.

yay for moving in!!! =D

aw thats sweet xleper17

i just moved in. and im lonely.

moving in at night to avoid crowds is perfectly alright..? and how will move in work if so? how late do they hand out room cards and such?

hi guys, I was just wondering how does the move-in actually work? For example my parents is driving me there. Im wondering do they drive me up to my dorm like during orientation? Or what? Is there a website on where I can check what happens during move-in and how it works(or someone willing to explain to me)? I aslo read something about shuttle buses. Whats that about?

Yes - traffic won't be controlled, so you can just drive right up to the building. The front desk will have your key.
