How Does UK Release Admission Decision - Portal, email, snail mail?

DS applied to UK and we received an email two weeks ago that everything was received, and that we should allow three weeks for processing. So we are hoping to hear something next week. But we are not sure how we will be notified. Can anyone share their experience?

THanks

Snail mail. Once you get accepted you will be getting a lot of it from them. In some ways they are very old school, kids will get mail, parents will get mail all at different times for different things. Once you start going to UKY you will start to receive emails but they will still send stuff by snail mail. They will have a Facebook page for accepted students along with multiple twitter accounts for everything imaginable. Good luck!!

@gerryfromNE Thank you for the information. We have been checking the portal everyday but now we will turn our attention to the mailbox!

@sbgal2011 just a heads up that my son’s acceptance came in a very thin, deceiving envelope. He thought he would be opening a rejection, but it came as a one page letter stating his acceptance. HIs other acceptances came in large, colorful envelopes filled with lots of literature that got us excited before he even opened them.

@VaNcBorder Thank you for the heads up, I would have thought that a regular sized envelope would be a rejection so that’s good to know Really hoping we hear something next week!

DS got his acceptance letter today! We are so excited! It actually came in a large blue envelope with “From Here On, You’re a Wildcat” on the front. Inside was his letter and a booklet of information. Can’t wait to schedule the campus tour!

My husband actually opened the letter before our son got home because he thought it was a rejection and wanted to prep him for it. All his other acceptance letters came in large envelopes with a lot of information. So don’t freak when you see a small envelope.

Got my acceptance letter on wednesday this week! it was a big blue letter that said “From here on, your a wildat” very excited…
