My app will be in by Friday. However, I fear that this is too late. Will this late of a submission hurt my chances of acceptance greatly? A little bit? not at all? Im clueless here.

Also, I am out of state with a 3.4 UW with 4 APs and a 2300 (CR-790, M-760, W-750) Good ECs, recs, essays.

Your GPA might be the thing that holds you up.

A submission at this time is not considered late...it is the normal time many applicants get their apps in...but your chances may have been a bit better had you submitted in late sept...

So it is more about my mediocre grades than my timing. It probably wouldn't have mattered when I got it in because of the grades? defered? rejected? how bad are they?

depends. my GPA is 3.6UW, but when converted to Michigan's GPA, its a 3.91...so if you messed up freshman year and in some dumb elective classes, your GPA will improve.

Unfortunately, I messed up junior year so Michigan GPA may even be like a 3.3 or 3.2

my mich gpa comes out to like a 3.44 but the thing is almost all my classes are honors (except history and govt) so do they take into account that you are taking honors?

They do, but curriculum is a separate criteria than GPA. Basically all the applicants to UM have taken honors and AP classes, so it's not liek you are in your own little boat there. A Michigan GPA under 3.6 would make it a "reach" for nearly any applicant.

My unweighted is like a 3.4.

Using Umich's recalculation I get a 3.8 because I messed up freshman year and sophomore/junior years were smooth sailing of mostly A's.

so even though I have all honors or AP, my 3.4 is probably going to kill me?

not necessarily. it wont help you, but if your essays are good and you have something special, then it wont be too harmful
