How far away from home? And was/is it scary, for those who had/have to move far?

3000 miles. im a little scared, but im mostly just incredibly excited!

wow 3k!! i'm about 1000miles.. get to drive over there whoo.. ):

Those are some pretty long distances! How often are you guys planning to visit home?

As someone who moved 417 miles away to college, I can tell you that the first semester is the roughest (no family to run home to during difficult times), but you get used to living by yourself after that.

35 miles 10char

Three hours. The perfect distance, in my opinion.

Don't know exactly, but that should be around 6,000 miles. When I was going home this time, it took me about 30 hours to travel from my dormroom door to my parents' appartment door.

30 minutes! hehe so i can pop home anytime to grab something i'd forgotten or to get a home-cooked meal or do laundry...

but i'm in boston which is completely different than my suburban town, so i'm happy!

Around 900 miles.

about 300 miles.. the drive isnt too bad.. and flying only takes an hour

Try 7000 miles on for size...

1600 miles. Once I explained to my mom that it took the same amount of time to fly home as it would to drive home State U, she relaxed a little.

I go home for winter break, possibly spring break. I'm not sure about Thanksgiving yet. It's not a big deal.

about 500 miles

I'm 15 minutes away from home.

another 3000 miles here

300 miles or about 6 hours driving.

I enjoy being this far away from home. I think it has helped me become more independent and self-sufficient.

Two hours driving, an hour and a half by train. Close enough for weekend visits, but not close enough for my parents to decide to pop in unannounced. (Plus, it's a pain to drive to my school, haha.)

haha 44 miles maybe? just about a 1 hour drive

Mine is a 3 hour drive away. The perfect distance. Far enough that my parents won't constantly be knocking on my door, but close enough that if anything happens I can go to them.

S1 is 300 miles but it felt like 10000 to me (not to him!). We are limiting S2 and S3 to 600 miles. My D can live at home until she is 35.
