How far is everyone on their essays?

helloel -

I don’t recall how the SSAT rec’s work . . . but if SSAT tells you to send the rec’s directly to them, then do it that way. To the best of my knowledge, SSAT will scan everything you send them (including rec’s) and make an electronic copy available to all the schools you’re applying to. So no need to send multiple copies of anything to SSAT. And if SSAT does require that something be sent directly to them, and you have it sent to the school instead, it tends to confuse things. It’s not the end of the world, by any means . . . just a bit more confusing.

Oh, and, no, even if you don’t have the rec’s sent to SSAT, that won’t interfere with you submitting the rest of your application.

Hope that helps!

Yesss, I’m done with everything. Now, revisions :frowning: Does anyone know the Lawrenceville word count limits? It doesn’t exactly say.

Thanks dodgersmom! So my teachers still enclose the rec in an envelope and Ssat will open it to make copies?

@98beebee im not sure of the Lawrenceville limits but Deerfield is the same way and I’m just trying to stay under 3 pages.

Wait, Deerfield doesn’t seem to have a specific limit on the Personal Essay…well, at least it doesn’t say so. That means we could write however many words we want???

The Lawrenceville limit is 1 page typed.

Anyone know if we can do the Thacher ad for yourself digitally then print it?

Aghhhhh aghhhh writer’s block.

Listen to music when you write! It always helps me, but maybe it’s distracting to other people.

I agree, CherryRose.

Thanks for the help, ballerina22!

Did everyone finish their essays yet?

I’m done with all my essays :). Now I have to study for retaking the SSAT’s.

good for you ^ I got writer’s block too. just took a break and watched ten things I love about deerfield. It seemed to work for like 200 words now I’m stuck again

CherryRose - I find that when I have writers’ block it’s ood to just freewrite to get ideas flowing :D

editing essays now!

you guys are all like done and editing Im not even close

Oh god I’m such a procrastinator . . . No essays. No interviews. Hopefully there will be spots in January. Good thing three of my schools are due in February : ) Now about those aid forms . . . Good lord, no help there. Desperate need of help! Advice on essays? I’m going to work on them all this week and then in January, review and hope they’re good.
