I recently scored 1450 on the sat but i have a 4.2 gpa and great extra cirriculars. Is this good enough? Any tips? I wanna go to a UC

[University of California - Statewide path](http://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/admissions/freshman/california-residents/admissions-index/index.html)

1450/1600 or 1450/2400?

If I had to guess I’d say 1450/2400 since he says, “how good does…” instead of “how well does…”

1450/2400 :(

The OP is the poster-child for grade inflation.

I dont think so, i just suck at tests but dude im a beast at schook

Ivygolfer, don’t be so condescending. This kid could be very intelligent, just a bad test taker. Juan, the sky is the limit, this is a great country. You can excel and do whatever you want. Impossible nothing.

Definitely plan on taking it again. The worst thing that could happen is to have your hard earned 4.2 gpa looked at negatively instead of positively by admission officers since your academic achievement doesn’t correlate with your SAT score. They will just get the impression that your school hands out A’s like its candy. For tips, since summer is right around the corner start studying for the October SAT NOW. Go to ur local bookstore or online and buy some SAT test prep books and take alot of practice tests. I can almost guarantee you your scores will improve.

Try the ACT. I think it might correlate better with grades. FWIW, I think UC’s weigh UCGPA over SAT’s.

Thanks guys! Im taking the ACT this june and also the SAT subjects in june as well. Im surely will study!!

Well the classes I take are all honors or AP and im ranked in the top 10% of orthopaedic hospital medical magnet high school. Grade inflation does happen in shelter classes
