How hard is it to transfer from DGS to COB

??????????????????????????????????????????????????????

anyone know, or has done it?

anyone???????

it isnt easy, you need stellar grades and GPA for one thing....

im glad i dont have to worry about that, if you wanna hear the truth. i heard they take 5 or 6 transfers, maybe not even that many

what the hell are you talking about.... they take between 150-300. i forget the actual number.

The average inter-collegiate transfer gpa is something like a 3.65, and you need some leadership roles in stuff. The process is currently changing from one where you apply at the end of soph year to one where you apply freshman year.

considering COB is currently trying to cut down each class size to about 500 or so, I don't see them taking 150-300 transfers per year. And it's not just grades. There have been cases of people with practically 4 semesters of straight A's who have been rejected. From my understanding, it's more difficult to transfer than it is to get in in the first place.

Right, taffy, what are YOU talking about.

"The average inter-collegiate transfer gpa is something like a 3.65, and you need some leadership roles in stuff".

No. There is no guarantee that you will be able to transfer into the CoB, no matter how stellar you are. And there is definitely no cut-off point.

last semester they admitted around 140 transfers

what should i do. uiuc or depaul?

It seems to me that you want to attend UIUC. If that is what you want to do, and the cost is not a real problem, I would recommend UIUC.

transfers from outside UIUC or within? the question is going from DGS to COB...which there is absolutely no guarantee of accomplishing.

140 ITC transfers accepted which is the same as DGS to COB.

"No. There is no guarantee that you will be able to transfer into the CoB, no matter how stellar you are. And there is definitely no cut-off point."

You idiot. I never said theres a cut-off. I said there is an average. I also never said there was a guarantee. Kill yourself. Wow.

"I also never said there was a guarantee. Kill yourself."

O RLY.

You made it sound so easy, though. Do some leadership roles in stuff, or like, whatever, and you'll be within the ridiculously specific range of 150-300 people who stream into the school every year. Or maybe it's 500 or even more? I forget.

Assuming you were too selfish to kill yourself..

I just got admitted to the College of Business (Accountancy) inter-college transfer with a 3.55 UIUC GPA, decent ECs (big leadership in fraternity, some volunteering downtown, summer job, and KPMG leadership program admittance), and terrible essays (BSed them 2 days before the deadline).

If what I was describing sounded "so easy," then yes, it is easy. Off yourself.

i just got accepted into COB finance w/ 3.47 GPA, pretty good leaderships, good essays, and pretty good resume. and yes i had to stretch the truth just a little bit, but only a very little bit. i am a little worried about their "maintain current GPA" clause though.

Congrats.

Everybody got that clause, even my friend with a 3.9. Seems like more of a scare tactic.
