How much does it costs to get braces on your upper jaw? And is it too late to get them?

if you can get free braces and it's only for a couple months you should get them!

... vacuums don't "suck", they create a lower-pressure atmosphere so the particles on the ground (carpet) move upwards.

Umm...isn't that the definition of sucking?

I say if you were born that way you should stay that way, getting braces is just changing who you really are.

Except that for some, braces may actually help reduce pressure on crooked teeth (which is comfortable), and reduce the rate of cavities.

Not all braces are simply for cosmetic reasons. For some of us, there are legitimate dental concerns that are being addressed by braces.

By your logic, someone born with a serious birth defect shouldn't have it corrected because "thats how they were born." What about cleft lips?

No they shouldent have it corrected, they are like that for a reason.

"lol i paid 4000 for them before and only had them off for a while. "
4000$!! Really?

What if it threatens their lives?

Then they were ment to die early.

I personally believe in that when everybody repays there sins from earlier lives. Now I don't believe that as you pay more of these off throughout many lifetimes, that your life gets better and better, such as the peak being a Millionaire or Doctor, lawyer. I believe that as you go on your life becomes worse and worse. By worse I mean misfortunes and other things, pretty much what separates the poor from the rich. People who are homeless or are disabled and cant do for themselves, etc.... I believe that these people are near completion of all there sins and much closer to heaven. I have thoght really long and hard about this and if you look at who really has had the worst lives, you will see that they were the most primitive people. If we Look at babies, why do some die, how could a new born have sure horrible things happen to them, or what about SIDS. Those babies, die because its there time, All of this can only be explained by my beliefs.

I am not a fan of doctors and only think they do more harm than good, But these are my opinions, and im free to them.

I've never had to get braces. My teeth are straighter than my friends who have braces. Maybe I'm just lucky.

Though there was one time when one of my teeth started to overlap another. My dentist gave me a popsicle stick to push against the tooth every night until it was straighter.

Oh, and my dentist wants to remove my wisdom teeth. Screw him. :D

I agree.

You agree that doctors do more harm than good, or that he's free to his opinion?

Jman2306,

Trust me, get your wisdom teeth out. If they're impacted, they'll only get worse. They're hard to brush, hard to keep from getting infected, and can actually threaten your life.

Well my wisdom teeth haven't been hurting at all. They aren't impacted yet I think.

If they aren't impacted, then you may have a good reason to not remove them.

However, keep in mind that they are almost invariably hard to clean and are prone to cavities. You're better off getting them pulled preemptively than having them get cavities.

Also keep in mind that it can cause the second molars to get cavities as well, because gunk gets stuck in between the second and third molars.

No, now that I've looked at them, they don't look impacted at all. They come straight up and out like the teeth in front of them.

It's not whether you can look at them. You need to have a bitewing x-ray done to see if they're coming in straight.

But like I said, even if they do come in straight, they're prone to problems anyway. Imagine flossing your second molars. Now imagine reaching even FURTHER back.

If your doctor says that you need to remove your wisdom teeth - and they've explained why and you've looked at the x-rays - it IS up to you, but it's a potentially painful and pointless set of teeth to have around. The procedure to have them out isn't bad, and usually prevents a lot of problems in the future.

I mean, again, ultimately it's your choice...but my wisdom teeth were already causing pressure at 15, when I had them out, and the older you get the harder they are to remove...I'm glad I won't have to deal with that later. :]

Braces are totally worth it...I had them on for two and a half years and not it's soo much easier to floss and clean them, not to mention it looks better. I tried whitening for a few days, but I'm not sure if it helped because I did it over a period of a month. Do it, especially if you already paid $4000.

Well, then why were we born with wisdom teeth if they are so bad? There has to be reasoning as to why we have them.....

{I assume you believe in God.} So, God gave humans the knowledge of how to better themselves for nothing, I suppose. I'm just sayin.

And braces are worth it.
