How long from Fletcher School to Boston?

The Fletcher school is one of the schools to which I'm applying. I'm not familiar with the actual town the schools in, and if it's possible/easy to get into Boston by train/subway. How long does it take? How much?

My fiance will be coming with me, so we're just thinking about if she gets work in the city....

The Fletcher school is about a 15 minute walk from the Davis Square T stop on the red line train. 6-8 stops on the train put you in downtown Boston. See mbta.com for more details.

Tufts is in Medford/Somerville, a close-in Boston suburb. Red Line Subway Information, Schedules, Stops, and Maps Click on the Interactive Street Map to see where Medford/Somerville is.

This is correct (I live a couple of blocks from Tufts). I would actually say 8 is overkill if you're just trying to get into Boston (if you're going somewhere specific, that's different). 6 will put you at Park Street.

Not only that, but there are a couple of bus lines (the 74 and the 76, I think) that have stops at both Tufts and the Davis Square station, so if you're really lazy/disabled/looking at awful weather, you hardly even have to walk.

Tufts is 3 stops from Harvard Square (Cambridge), 6 stops from Park Street (center of subway system in downtown Boston).

And 8 stops from South Station (Amtrak, Greyhound, and Silver Line to the Airport)

I appreciate it guys...

I get the impression that living near Fletcher and working in Boston, or vice versa, is doable....
