My father can't file untill late february and the schools i am applying to have a deadline of March 1. Should I fill out the FAFSA now and correct it later or can I wait till late february?

I basicly want to know, on average, how long it takes for a school to receive your FAFSA application after you have finished it online.

If you already have your PIN Number, it can take an average of 3 to 5 days for your school to receive your processed FAFSA. However, sometimes, a school can receive it within 24 hours and other times it may be a week or so. You may want to double-check your FAFSA and verify that the school was added correctly and that it has gone through processing. If all looks good, you may want to request the school check through their FAA portal. I have noticed that occasionally our tracking software doesn't log the receipt of a received FAFSA. When I check the FAA portal, though, I can see that the student has added our school code and that it has been processed and released. If they still say it is not there, you can always contact the Processing Support line at 1-800-433-3243.

I submitted it twice because he has so many schools. Following advice here and on the fafsa site, I waited until I got an EFC and SAR then deleted/added other schools. I am just nervous that the first batch did not get the information before the changes were made. How can I tell a school has processes the SAR?

Apparently my school, received my processed FAFSA one day after it was processed. However it still does not show up on my "prospective student account application status", but every time i call the financial aid office at one of that prospective college, they keep telling me that they have my FAFSA.
