How tough is it to adjust to the cold? Being in the "valley of the sun" in Phoenix, we're more accustomed to blazing heat.

Coming from Houston, it wasn't too bad. It was cold at night in 2nd BCT, but we had warm sleeping bags. As far as weather, if you layer up like you should in the cold you will be just fine. My biggest problem was/is the dry air and not the cold!

However, I will say that learning to drive in snow was o so fun.....first time for everything, too bad mine was a 12 hour drive back from Keystone to CSprings (which should only have been 2 hours!)

Ouch. Yeah, my first experience driving in the snow up here was when I had to go pick up another 4-dig from the USAFA hospital back in December, that night the roads were icy...at least it was only a 30 min drive there and back... ;)

all these scary experiences! coldness, snow, ICE! aaahhhh

Wait I thought 4-digs can't drive? Epic thread derailment has occurred, btw

Everyone can drive, just 3 and 4-digs can't own a car up here.

Yep. I know other 4-digs that borrow a car almost every weekend, although they have to resort to staying on base once they're out of passes...

If you haven't driven on snow before, just remember to go slow and give yourself 3 to 4 times as much distance to stop than you usually would.

...gotta watch for ice on the T-zo! That stuff can be nasty.

That's true - those of you who can access YouTube can probably find videos of cadets (mostly four degrees on the icy marble) slipping and sliding across the Terrazzo.
