Good, I got a little worried. I don’t think I could handle a thousand variations of…that.

(How do you underline, by the way?)
Because I have to be difficult:
open square bracket, u, close square bracket, text, open square bracket, forward slash, u, close square bracket.

"Well the thing is, my mom gave away most of my clothes to charity, and she wants to buy only new clothes for college(since I had them for 2 years)…I don’t remember how many jeans I used to have… "

Well, if she’s buying you all new jeans, then I’d say get one darker wash, one medium, one light, and let the fourth one be a wildcard.

"Maybe I should give a lesson on quoting while I’m at it. "

Why?

Maybe I should give a lesson on quoting while I’m at it.

If you feel comfortable wearing the jeans more than once, then go ahead and do so. Unless they’re really filthy, no one’s going to be able to tell, and jeans hardly get very dirty after one wear. If anything, and you get 5 pairs, you could wear one pair for each day and would only have to re-wear a pair twice for Saturday and Sunday (if two wears is all you’re comfortable with). If you’re not comfortable with re-wearing jeans, just buy more. For me, personally, it’s not a big deal. But whatever makes you comfortable, and whatever you have space for.

Also, if you have shorts, you could alternate jeans and short wearing and you probably wouldn’t even wear all your pairs within a week.

I forgot about Binghamton. They should have an ultimate acronym list so this doesn’t happen

I remember your quoting lesson. It was a difficult class to pass indeed.

Hooray Bingotown!

To actually answer the OP’s question, in my case I brought 7 pairs of jeans, two pairs of dress pants, a few nice blouses, probably around 15 normal shirts (t-shirt and long-sleeved) I wore on a daily basis, and maybe 10 hoodies, plus some pajama pants.

I think the easiest way to whittle it down is basically to say, “Do I generally wear this one every few weeks at least?” and if the answer is yes, then you can probably get away with bringing it. If you usually don’t wear something more than occasionally don’t bother bringing it because you probably won’t wear it at college either, excepting one or two sets of formal clothes.

Bingotown?

How many pairs of jeans does the average guy in college have?

For goodness sakes, just bring ten pairs of pants. If it’s not enough buy more or have them shipped up.

/thread.

I am just asking, because I don’t want to be the kid who only decided to bring 4-5 jeans when everyone else brought 20(most kids at top 20 schools are really wealthy), I am just middle class…

I don’t know anyone, wealthy or not, who owns 20 pairs of jeans.

It doesn’t matter. Nobody cares how many pants you bring. Just bring some pants.

This thread seriously reminds me of that Jimmy Neutron episode when the pants attacked Retroville.
(…leave me alone. I like Jimmy.)

Bingotown=Binghamton.

so you guys are saying that around 4-6 pairs of jeans is average?

You also don’t wash your pants so…

Ditto. Seriously, I don’t think anyone’s going to be keeping track of how many jeans you have, anyway.

Oh, I was literally imagining some fictional Disney town where everyone played Bingo or something lol

Man, I was taught by my parents you can wear pants 3-4 times before they need a wash as long as you haven’t dropped anything on them.

I can’t imagine washing my jeans after just one wear. It takes two for them to get soft enough to be really comfortable.
