I was deferred at on the first wave of notifications, if I believe correctly it was around mid-November. I am curious as to how many students are usually accepted that receive the “deferred” notice. Also because we are placed into the regular decision applicant pool, but were deferred, is there any advantage or disadvantage or are we seen as just another regular decision applicant? Also when will I hear back from tOSU?
Hoping for a decision soon as I have to plan!
Also, my stats are as follows:
ACT 26
GPA 3.8
Rank 17/128
Many EC’s, sports, jobs, and awards
Essay prompt - commitment to diversity

When defferral came, sent letter to admissions counselor with copy of 1st Semester grades, letter from high school guidance counselor and explained tOSU was first choice and intent to enroll if accepted.
Both parents are alumni, brother graduates May 6 from OSU. Sister is current sophomore at OSU.
And Mom works at OSU (half off tuition benefit!)
Wow. Long exhale. Been waiting 5 months for this!
Go Bucks!
Wow, so awesome! You should be so proud. My sister, too, attends tOSU and will be graduating next fall. I check my portal and I have not been accepted, at this time. Waiting patiently. I also wrote a letter of intent and sent my transcript after 1st sem. grades were published.
I went to school with a girl whose grandparents and parents went to OSU. She was deferred and accepted. I was deferred and denied. OSU seems to like bringing in kids of former buckeyes, and your stats fit OSU well. OSU focuses heavily on class rank, and being you’re in the top 20 with those stats, I think you have a good shot.
I was waitlisted. Bummer. OU it is!
OSU doesn’t admit based on legacy. It’s based on the criteria outlined on the admissions page alone.
