How many of you are already done with your alumni interview?

Yeah so how many of you guys are already done with your alumni interivew??
oh and those who got the interview notice, when did u get it???

I am. I got it around 1 and a half weeks after I submitted?

cool…i’m still waiting for mine although i’m starting to think i might not get one…

I had my interview on this Monday; I only got the notice last Friday.

i have mine soon. will they read your application before you have your interview?

well it says on their website, the interviewers don’t know anything except for your name, and some basic info, no app essays or anything
but who knows hehe…

I guess depending on the area where you live, my D submitted her app on 10/31 and got an email from an alumnus on 11/3 and her interview was on 11/6.

Does the interview report show up on the Admissions Status Page of the Eli account? how do you know that they received the report from your interviewer?

I submitted my app 10/31, got the interview notice 11/2 and had my interview 11/5. I didn’t even think I was going to get an interview bc I live in a small place but yea getting an interview deff depends on where you live

I had my interview already. Also I don’t think the interviewer knows anything besides your name (I think this because the interviewer was stunned that I was American (the interview was in London))

yeah it’s supposed to be like that i guess
i’m going insane, i’m like checking my e-mails every 3 hours to see whether i got an interview… ahhh
but i guess somethings r just not meant to be

think about some of the advantages of potentially not getting an interview.

you could have potentially been interviewed by someone you just clashed with who may have written you a sub-par report.

to be quite frank, i had an interview, and although it went well, it didn’t feel brilliant. my interviewer started doodling on his notepaper while he was telling me about yale, almost as if he was on the phone. it didn’t fill me with confidence.

totallysunshine, does any applicant from your country get into Yale without an interview? I think that interview MIGHT help international applicants more than domestic ones?

ZishuAW, I have absolutely no idea. I don’t think very many Australians get into Yale at all, and dare I say many of the ones who do must be athletic recruits, we’re a really sporty country.
My best friend was offered a admission without even applying!! But she’s a recruited athlete.

wow nice…
ok umm i’m just gonna wait a little bit more cause well i’m not in america and ummm just to have something to hold on to haha
lame i know

i had my interview yesterday…we kept on talking for 2 hours.i think it was good - they obviously try to see if everything you have written is true through their questions and they probe you to talk to deep about the things you like.

Radhika, what makes you think the interviewer is trying to validate your ECAs? Could you share your experience in detail?

Because the norm is that interviewers only have information about your name, high school…basic details, at least according to the other threads here. So I would like to know your experience.

Radhika, are you applying from india?

I really hope if anyone got some contact with directors of asian countries…Mainland China…Hong Kong and stuff. I know this sounds lame, but I can’t really sit around waiting on a bleak outlook.

zishuaw, you mean you’re going to contact the directors to ask for an interview?

Is that even a wise thing to do?
