Cause, coming into high school, and even halfway into French 2, I had the full intention of taking 4 years of French. But after being in French 2 for a while, I really developed a huge annoyance with the class, the teacher, the work, and a lot of the kids that were taking French. A lot of other people felt the same way, so out of the 40 or so students that took French 2, less than 10 actually signed up for French 3. I didn't.
I might take French 3 online next summer, but I honestly don't know if I'll be able to.

I’m going to be taking 4 years of Chinese. I know how you feel, after my 3rd year of Chinese I can barely stand it. There’s only 6 kids in the class and I have really become annoyed with 3 of them. I also have no intentions of using my language skills for anything, I’m interested in Physics/Engineering. However, my teacher/counselor/mom somehow convinced me that it looks better for colleges to see that I’ve stayed committed and so come next school year I’ll be in hell.

I’ll be taking 4 years of French and Latin. Languages are always the high point of my day as it intrigues me to know that I’m essentially learning how to effectively communicate with a larger size of the world population (French, that is :D).

French: 5th year. Was in an intensive immersion program in gr 6&7, then HS courses, and I took AP this year, and there’s no more classes left in my school :(

Mandarin: It will be my 3rd year this year, but I’m continuing on

Spanish: Next year will be my first year. I don’t know if I like it or not. For French, I willingly learned it because I adored French culture, but not much so for Spanish

I’m going into my 4th year of French. I hadn’t ever taken it before high school but I ended up loving it. I’d recommend at least 3 years of the same language to show some consistency. If you want to do two (separately) and can’t take a third year of one, do 2 and 2.

I’ll only have 3 because my school didn’t have any foreign language teachers in 9th grade. I’d love to have more though! I plan to major in French in college :)

I’m finishing 4 and 1/2 years of French. I’ll be taking French 5 AP online next year because there were only 3 kids signed up to continue next year. We’ve have a weird combination of teachers and it hasn’t had the best results, but I love French and french culture, so I want to keep going!

Well… I’m going to take 3 years of French, but I’m going to learn 2 years worth of lessons for each year. Basically it could be safe to say I’ll take 6 years worth of French :)

Three years of Spanish. I’d do four, but my school isn’t competitive at all and requires two. So the Spanish 3 class is usually split with Spanish 4.

You guys are crazyyyy taking so many.
The reason I’m asking is because I’m looking into schools like UNC and Wake Forest, which I know really like to see at least three years. and Duke which even recommends 4 years.
Sooo. I don’t know. I’m thinking I might actually take French 3 online in the Spring. Then maybe French 4 online over the summer or in the Fall. I’ll seee.

Started in 7th with Spanish 1 and will finish high school with up through Spanish 6. Spanish is ok… I’m actually pretty good at it but it takes work
