How much are YOU going to spend on back-to-school shopping?

I don't think I would be able to do that.

wow lol that would not go over well at all where i live or at my school. but im a girl so i guess it's slightly different.. plus i'd get so bored. i love wearing different stuff for different moods and whatever

do you have dressier clothes? what about in the summer? do you wear shorts?

Yes, I wear shorts... :p
2 Pairs. Yay :) However, I prefer pants.

Probably less than $30..A couple of binders, folders, notebooks, some looseleaf paper, pencils/pens. That's about it. I'm trying to keep my binders to a minimum: it really takes a toll on the back. Hopefully I can use just those thin notebooks and a folder for a couple of my classes...

I don't tend to buy clothes for "back to school" since I live in jeans and tshirts and sweatshirts during school. No, literally. I'm not a slave to fashion. I buy things here and there, if I see something I like. I don't tend to go out with the purpose to buy clothing.

Less than 30 dollars. I've got a stockpile of papers and folders already.

about 500 for everything. Whoo, there goes my summer paycheck... well, the one from last summer since I didn't work this one. ><

over $800 on clothes so far (I'm about half way done)
about $300 on shoes (I'm done shoe shopping)

I'm not a snob, I promise. I'm moving from Texas to Boston and have absolutley NO WINTER CLOTHES so I had to get cold weather clothes.
:)

if back-to-school does not include svhool fees, then: 100 dollars.

140 for me

99 cents store for paper
10 notebooks for $1 ( I LOVE THOSE DEALS!)
pens, pencils, markers, etc
about $15-$20 each on 4 AP prep books

around $50-$100 give or take

I already did my back-to-school shopping. Around $230 bucks, including prep books, and I won't shop again till next August.

I thought public education was free!
School supplies are CHEAP when you shop around! At Wal*Mart, notebooks were .10 cents each.
Breakdown:

10 notebooks: $1.00
pack of 40 pencils: $3.00
Pack of 40 pens: $2.00
Pack of notebook paper: $1.00
10 folders at .10 cents each: $1.00

$8.00 total for supplies, no excuse for some paying $200.00 for supplies

i agree about the supplies, but why did u assume we all went to public school. i go to parochial school, Justinian. so we have to pay tuition, buy uniforms, textbooks, etc.

I apologize GDF, I was merely remarking about public schools. Of course, books would add to the total cost at a private school. :)

Hey, just finished my shopping for clothes. $37.97 :)

I'm spending $0, reusing everything from last year. I wear the same clothes I used to wear in 8th grade (and I am going into 11th)! I am a nerd and a cheapskate. :)

IDIOTS...the textbooks are FREE...your teachers give you them...and im using my scientific calculator that i had used last year in 8th grade..im going into 9th...and by the way i just use all binders and folders and pencils and pens and highlighters and of course i need to by a graphing calculator for 9th grade but my dad got it. In new york for math A 2H you spend half the year in math A and the Half in math B(which required the GC) and by the way ..this is a stupid thread

haha now now, no need to call anyone an idiot, especially if you're uninformed and wrong

most of us that go to private schools DO need to buy our own textbooks

i go to public schools, whats the difference anyways?

sean, the difference is we have to pay for textbooks. so they're not free, kthanks.
