well private school sucks, why not just go to public schools?
AFTER all the smartest people go to public schools

just 65 for supplies and 70 for a backpack.

Hmm...
I don't know how much I will spend. My mom buys me a little and my grandparents go on a shopping spree with me. I'm not really a shopper. I mean spend about a 30 min shopping for clothes and then spend 5 hours in the book store (Well that is how it is with my mom and I). My grandma makes me let her buy me a lot of clothes and my grandpa and I have a tradition of back packs.

$50 - New backpack
$250 - books (AP prep and textbooks)
$??? - clothes (I'm sure it will be triple digit with my grandma)
$50 - I need new sneakers.

School supplies - who knows... In our school we have to have a binder per class - thats 7, plus 3 for ECs (long story). Basically my problem is that most good binders are like $7 and that adds up quick. Then many teachers make you also have notebooks. IT SUCKS!!

As for the textbooks, they are optional at our school, but it makes it easier just to highlight the stuff rather then take written notes.

hmmm. for my upcoming senior year,

three packs of ticonderoga pencils.
a few boxes of cap erasers
a pack of ballpoint pens
three or four 3-subject five-star notebooks.
probably about $200 on clothes and another $60-$75 on a new pair of chucks.
loose paper i buy periodically throughout the year.

that's pretty much it.

sean thats definitely not true all the time. the smartest people go to all different schools. the people at Andover are extremely smart, as are at other prep schools. if you're smart, you'll do well wherever. i prefer my school. the teachers are better than the local public school. and we have much more success in college admissions.

in Public school you get a better education and at your P.S you have to pay money for it plus the state taxes, so your not benefiting
Im way smarter then you and its official that public beats private school!

sean, i don't think you can ever say Public school is better than private school, or Private school is better than public school. there are thousands of different public and private schools in this country and you can't generalize about them all. I think some public schools are better than some private schools, and some privates are better than some publics.

$0.50 on new pencils (20 last exactly a year) + $2 on 3 fat notebooks for paper.

$40 backpack
$100 graphing calculator
$100 clothes
$30 paper, pencil, notebooks, etc.
$300 textbooks

and sean123, you're too arrogant.

amen.
btw, just a question, but how much are you all paying for your graphing calculators (for those of you who are getting them)?

Especially those TI-89s?

I got my Ti-89T in brand new condition with Graph-Link cable, Unit-to-Unit Cable, and Manual on CD for $93.
All hail eBay ;)

I was looking at the TI-89s on ebay, but I'm really uneasy about ordering there. Are people generally honest about the condition of the merchandise? Because that 55 dollar TI-89 just seems to good to be true...

haha u guys dont go to special school lol
amount of money spent at the store: $0
my school buys it but we get a deal..and they bill us later..but its even less expensive then the original bill...
SCHOOl clothing..: LOTS of stuff im going to use from last yr maybe buy another 2 polo shirts and maybe a pair of pants for my strict dress code

res, check the seller ratings.

I already had a TI-83+ for Pre-Calc. I'm either getting a really good business briefcase for my stuff (apx. $200, I need a lot of room), or just gonna struggle with my LL Bean.
But on files, archives (file cabinets), pens, pencils, file folders, notecards + holder, clipboard, sharpies, erasers, white-out, planner, and legal pads --- $115 or so. Also, a $50 flash-drive.

About $5. Binders and paper... gotta love Walmart.

$15-20. Paper, pens, pencils, already have my nice calculator, a nice large binder to be used for all subjects.
I'm kind of a shopaholic, but I buy clothes when I see stuff I like and not at set points in the year, so that's n/a.

I don't know...

But next year:

~$2100 Apple Laptop+iPod
~$400 stuff

Omg, yeah. I'm already lining up things I hope I can get for college. <3<3<3 A new laptop hopefully and a mp3 player that's NOT an Ipod. And clothes. I have to work all next summer for them though.

I have to kind of like finish raising my niece (really sad story behind that:( in the middle of this month and this is what I bought her with her consent, she is currently enjoying a nice horseback riding vacation in Oklahoma with my aunt...

Five pairs of Uniform pants
Five changes of Uniform shirts
Five long sleeve Uniform shirts
Five school approved sweaters
Five assorted Fubu and Nike lady like light jackets
One L.L. Bean jacket for the winter
Extra delicates and ten changes of socks
and for when she finishes her half day at high school and I drive her to the University...
five Baby Phat shirts
five Gap long sleeve shirts
five pairs of L.L. Bean slacks
5 non school approved (meaning not white in color) but still lady like L.L. Bean sweaters
5 pairs of assorted Converse sneakers
One big L.L. Bean backpack
Two regular Target issue pocketbooks
Assorted Target issue toiletries and Bonnie Bell
I also bought her a ton of spiral notebooks at Target, we actually bought enough for both of us because I am a University student. I also bought her a really fair amount of pencils and some cute sharpeners and we bought enough of those for both of us too. And then, we stocked up on printer ink and printer paper.

That is a lot of money! That is all I am saying.
