Does anyone know the kind of money they are giving in OSS students and how competitive they are?
I don't want to turn this into a chance thread but I have a 34 and a 3.7

You’ll immediately get merit money. Look at their site. The state legislature just implemented a program to attract better students both in and out of state.

“starting fall 2013. The Apex Scholarship will award Oregon top scholars $12,000 over four years and, due to the difference in tuition, out of state top scholars $16,000 over four years.”

“The Summit Scholarship will award Oregon top scholars $20,000 over four years and, due to the difference in tuition, out of state top scholars $32,000 over four years.”

Very smart of oregon in my opinion. It get’s smart out of state kids thinking about UO, vs. many other state schools that just use out of state kids as a cash machine for their school.

The “Summit” scholarship requirements are this.

Minimum 3.80 high school GPA on a 4.00 scale, and
• Minimum score: 1200 SAT (Math and Critical Reading scores only) or 26 ACT

Is the Summit scholarship automatically awarded or is it competitive?

I asked the same question in person at the info session. It’s an on/off switch, no subjectivity at all. Hit the numbers and get the money.

Does the requirement-
“Minimum 3.80 high school GPA on a 4.00 scale”

mean that the GPA must be unweighted?

Hi, OregonBound96. The requirement you mentioned in your comment does not mean that the GPA must be unweighted. We accept the highest GPA reported.

Hi, Whenhen. The Summit Scholarship is automatically awarded by the University of Oregon.

Say a student is just under that summit scholarship but has a super high act(see OP) is it possible to still get the higher scholarship

Hi, Yoskis. Thanks for your question! Unfortunately, no exceptions are made regarding the requirements, even with a high ACT score. All of the listed requirements must be made.
