Heya, just toured UF, liked it much more than expected. That said, I recalculated my GPA and it was much sadder than expected. Including my credits from freshman year and before, my UF GPA is a 3.65. If you ignored those, it would be a 4.1 (at a school that does not offer AP classes). Huge upward trend there. That said, I know UF is hard on GPA, and my regional rep hasn't gotten back to me on this question.

Other stats:
*White female applying to aerospace/mechanical engineering
* SAT: 2230 (M: 770, CR: 770, WR: 690)
*Fairly involved in extracurriculars (Council Member Music Honors Society and GSA, three years of theater,
four years equestrian sport, three years French team, two years Math Team, work experience, weight lifting club)

I'm definitely making sure that my essay is super solid, so there's no worry on that front. I know that I'm up to the challenge of UF, it's just that younger me didn't care all too much.

…Hah.
Look, your GPA isn’t bad at all, and your “weighted” GPA (or prediction thereof) is within the university’s standard. Your SAT score is fantastic and well above their higher average. You worry too much, don’t blame ya’, but… You have a very nice chance. Kick-ass on that essay and you’re in.
By the way, kudos to you for choosing AeroEngineering, you don’t see too many women around in that field.

Since I’m here, I hope you don’t mind me stating how I fare up! I’m an international student (Brazil), also applying to UF, with a GPA of about 3.4 (3.5 if I’m reaaaallly lucky). Weighted doesn’t even come close to existing here. I got a 2190 on the SAT last time I took it. Native English (but that’s a secret just between you and me ). Decent community service, ECs in Germany, Russia and school government. I’ve already finished my whole application and have been starring at it for the past 3 hours. The essay I wrote was perhaps the best piece of text that I, within my own capabilities, could conceive. It bleeds passion!

Before I get carried away with myself… I wish you the best of luck with the admission! You won’t really need it as it seems you already have a foot in but… Can you wish me luck too?! Hahahah!
On a footnote, I’m applying for Computer Engineering. We might see each other around?
Take care!

I know in my head that there’s nothing to have a cow about, but there I was, having a cow, so I figured I’d post (doesn’t help that the friend I was talking to had the 4.0, varsity sport, 2220 deal going for him ahaha). Aero is so appealing partly because I could say that I essentially study rocket science. Not the best way to choose an engineering discipline, but…more fun than mech, right?

Obviously, I have no idea how to actually give you an idea on your chances, but I think you have your foot in the door, definitely! Especially if your essay is amazing, I think you have as good of a shot as anyone.

I wish you super good luck, and if I get in, I’ll let you know! Hope to see you around!
