How soon will we hear about admission decision?

You should definitely have a back-up plan, no matter what your stats. Admissions can be a very strange game sometimes. If you want to chat privately about other choices, I would be glad to offer some suggestions. Whatever is good for you.

Congrats to everyone who received merit aid offers and good luck to everyone still awaiting decisions. And I agree that you should email your admissions rep or call if you applied that long ago.

Congrats Bowler and all others that received acceptance letters today.

My DD saw her acceptance on Gibson 11/1. On 11/2 the screen was blank. Om 11/3 it said her application was incomplete and now today it says her application is complete and being reviewed. Thank goodness she took a screen shot of the acceptance in case it was in error. will be glad when we get acceptance in mail but you would think Tulane would have better technology especially with so many applications.

Oh I better take a screenshot of it in case that happens to me… And yeah you would think they wouldn’t have so many glitches.

Bowler, my DD and I were really routing for you…she was also super stressed about hearing…Congrats.

I am also disappointed there are these glitches. It seems ridiculous. It also appears that it happens when they update the accounts with new info, but in that case they should just have a screen that says “Please check back later, the system is being updated”. Way too confusing this way.

I agree, FC. That would definitely cut back on the confusion that nearly everyone on here seems to have experienced at some point.

Thank you madre! That means a lot! I am rooting for everyone on here.

Great job Bowler! I was so happy to read about your acceptance!!

Bowler. I was rooting for you too! Congrats! Still waiting for our letter. Very anxious to see about merit $$. DS stats are not quite as high as those getting the big $$ but close. I’m not sure what to expect.

Does anyone know if Gibson is only updated during ‘work hours’? Is there any point in us checking at night or on the weekends? Not sure exactly how it works. (my son got another acceptance yesterday, with a $23K/year scholarship, but not from a school he’s really interested in attending. I just want him to find out about Tulane so he can start considering some of the other options if he needs to…he has 4 other acceptances, all with money!)

I think it is unlikely that there will be status changes after hours. Some schools post the status change right as they close at the end of business.

That said, we saw my DS’s acceptance on line on a Sat morning, but it was probably there from the afternoon before.

Thank you everyone!

D applied EA three weeks ago and her application has been complete since then. Any good idea when she should hear a decision?

Okay, the letter is here, but the DD is not, and she wants to open it herself. Pins and needles!

mommaMafia - That is what they invented steam for! Just kidding. We will look for your post later.

pushydad - IIRC your D was right on the border stats-wise. 3.25 UW with a few AP’s, around a 2000 SAT? That makes it really hard to say how they will go with her. If it is a yes, she might hear this week, but if they are hesitating they might defer her to the RD pool, and they may not decide that until closer to Dec 15. Really hard to say. If they do defer her it would most likely be so they can see her first semester grades.

She actually got home a little earlier than I thought she would: Dist. Scholar Award of $25k and invitation to the Honors Program. She commented that the envelope was beautiful  She is thrilled!

Best of luck to those still waiting!

So excellent! Congrats to her and you (and everyone I haven’t said that to yet).

Congratulations !!! That is awesome news!!!

MommaMafia–Way to go!!!
