Halfway through my sophomore year, my school switched to a 5.0 scale for select Honors/AP classes. I thought not much of this until today. I had to get a form filled out by my counselor for a scholarship, and it asked for my GPA scale. Now, I have some courses on the 5.0 and some on the 4.0, but she put the scale down as a blanket 5.0. Then it asked for my unweighted GPA, and she put down a number that I was never able to calculate for my GPA, even when factoring in the 5.0 classes. It reflects more poorly on my academic performance than it would if on a solid, across-the-board 4.0 scale, and I frankly have no idea how I should calculate my GPA, how I should report it to colleges, or anything like that. Is there any advice that you could offer me to deal with this?
