This is a weird question because most guys want the non-platonic relationship and sometimes end up in the doomed friend category.

You don’t have to act gay to meet girls; just be friendly and start talking about “neutral” stuff, like how classes were, talk about the weather, etc. Then, you also won’t come across as desiring “carnal knowledge” (haha, haven’t used/heard that in a long time…)

Actually, the possibility of a guy being purely Platonic friends with a girl is a heavily debated matter.

If any of you have read IW’s ideas about social ladders, he argues there are only three possibilities for a guy and girl maintaining a good friendship without one party (typically the guy) wanting to have sex with the other;

The guy finds the girl unattractive.

The guy is gay.

The guy is going out with a much more attractive, higher-ranking girl already.

This is certainly true for me personally, as my female friends are all girls I don’t find sexually attractive.

At any rate, why are you concerned about making friends with girls? Trying to make friends with everyone is time-consuming and ultimately fruitless. Just pick individuals who you’re comfortable with, male or female, and who offer something in the friendship, whether it be humor, intelligent conversation, or free alcohol.

Feeling obligated to approach people and become friends with them is a recipe for disaster.

The Ladder Theory cannot be challenged, it is fact, brought down from God at Sinai.
