Hello, I am a current UT San Antonio Undergrad Architecture Student, who plans to go to UT Austin for grad school. I am currently pursuing a BS Arch and want to get a dual, MArch 1 advanced standing and MS in Historic Preservation at UT Austin. I wanted to know how to prepare myself to get the best chances to get in, since UT Austin Arch school is really hard to get in. I am already in the UT school system (because of UTSA), but I know that UT Austin grads most likely get priority. What are the GPA requirements, and what should my portfolio look like? My GPA is a 8.3 (will flex due to future classes) and I am considering taking extra studio classes at UTSA to build up my portfolio. I am also the IDP coordinator for AIAS (American Institute for Architecture Students) and am trying to get a job as a supplemental instructor (tutor) for architecture history. I still have a lot of time left, but I want to start planning now. I will also go study abroad in a year too. What can I do to increase my chances and to be prepared? Thank you for your help and advice.
