I plan to join clubs when they start up soon, I know I'll have homework, and I'm slowly in the process of making friends to hang out with. However, my last class of the week ends at 9am on Thursday, and I know that I'm not going to have something to take up all that time. I'm excited to have a long weekend, but I'm also not sure what I'm going to do with myself since clubs, homework, etc won't take up all that free time and I'm worried I'll end up being homesick and lonely. Any advice?

Stuff you could do:
- Play cards with your new friends (can’t tell you how many hours we spent doing this when I was in college!)
- Get ahead on your homework. Read ahead, start any papers or assignments that are due. You will be busier later on, so take advantage of this lull.
- Do you have any errands to do? Example: my D wants a library card at the local library (not only for paper books but to check out e-books). You can go get a library card. Or did you forget to pack anything you need to pick up?
- Explore the area around campus. I didn’t really get to know the streets and businesses off campus at all my freshman year. Just go walk several blocks off campus in each direction.
- Work out – have you been to the campus fitness center yet? Go check out the options there.
- See what is scheduled on campus. Lots of times there are speakers, free movies, etc. going on. Look for posters (or maybe there is an online resource where your college lists those). Go even if none of your friends are going.
- Read. Sleep. Eat. Watch Dr. Who or Sherlock re-runs on your computer. :)

College is all about fun and having good time. Dont be reserved. Meet new people which will not only give you exposure but also boost your confidence. Participate in all the activities, join clubs and make sure you have the time of your life.

On top of the clubs, how about work? volunteer? Don’t waste your precious time!!

My classes end early too; this is my plan:

-Learn to cook
-Go to the gym
-Watch Arrested Development and Game of Thrones (maybe Community when I finish that? So many shows I haven’t watched!)
-Volunteer Fridays at a place in walking distance from campus
-READ BOOKS
