Okay so i have this job that i started over the summer. I havent been back since then but the manager knows that i will work summers. Well i hate it and want to quit. Do i call and set up an appointment or just do it over the phone? And what do i say?

I would go in and ask to speak directly to the manager. Sooner is better than later. Tell them you’re unable to work during the summer and thank them for the job opportunities. If you were in the job now you should put in two weeks, but because you only go during the summers it should be okay to just up and quit.

Just go in and tell them. Give them a short letter for their records. You can find a form one online and fill in your info, which is what I did. Don’t worry too much about it though. If it’s a part time place, they are probably used to high school and college kids quitting all the time. I thought it would be a big deal when I quit but my manager guessed it before I even opened my mouth because of the scared expression on my face lol.

If there’s some reason you can’t go in (like it’s far away from your college, back at home), then calling them should be ok. Just don’t put it off, because the longer you wait, the less time they have to find someone else and the more you’re inconveniencing them.

seriously make sure you write a two-weeks notice. it looks really good for your company’s perception of you and in the future if you need a recommendation from them it’ll only help
