How to use Course Schedule Planner

I already have General Chemistry and Expos. on my current schedule which I'm definitely keeping. When I use CSP, do I re-enter those, or do I enter the other two courses that I want and then try to find times that fit with Chem and Expos that I already have?

Will you be a full-time student? It sounds like you are only registered for 2 courses.

If you are using the automatic scheduler that gives you all possibilities, and you want to keep certain sections for chem and expos, you need to choose only those sections. Uncheck boxes to get rid of the sections that you don’t want. Now enter the other classes you want, with the sections you want. If there are any sections you don’t want (eg Saturday mornings) get rid of those sections by unchecking them.

Now when you click through for class combinations, your results will only include those times for those classes that you want.

Realistically, most sections of courses will be closed because everyone has picked over them. What is left now is what other people don’t want. So rather than try to pick the sections you want, wait until Webreg opens for you and then see what is left. Grab what you can, and then try to get better times as people add and drop those first two weeks of classes.

Be wary of that system Sabrina. It does not look at pre-reqs either or course restrictions so when you click register without looking at the sections restrictions (major, pre-reqs, etc…) you might end up disappointed. It happened to a few of my friends last semester.

Scienceguy when you do a course search, next to the course name is a clickable link, in blue, that will give you the prerequisite course number, if applicable.

you pick the classes you have and choice what section you are and then pick the courses you want and don’t select a section and see what possibilities you can have.

I’m saying it does not check if you have completed the pre-req. Most of the Deans I volunteer with tell us to tell the students not to use it because of that very reason (it’s their first time registering though).

It’s a very primitive system IMO needs to be fixed a little bit to check to see what major and pre-reqs you have completed before it lets you hit the plus sign on a course.
