How's your typical week like?

My cousin goes to Columbia University, and she told me that she literally cries there cuz everyone seems like a genius. This is what she told me how a typical week looks like for a typical Columbia Student:

5pm to 5am: Party, Club, Night Life LIKE CRAZY!!!

Saturday and Sunday: Do nothing but sleep until 7pm of Sunday. And then start studying for Monday class.

Repeat.

This just seem insane.

studying and reading are, at this point, only usually done as needed (ie before tests, papers, etc). graduation requirements are officially completed and classes are easy so i tend to manage well.

I'd rather not say.

I think he was asking how a typical college week is like, not high school.

You do realize I'm in college, right?

"I'd rather not say."

Then why in the world are you even responding to the thread?

monday:
9am-1:15 - class
3-4pm - class

(I can do homework at my job)

Weekends: I don't do too much homework unless I have a test to study for and mostly just chill.

Linkinpark14:

Uhh im a senior in COLLEGE. Hence the working office hours 30 hours a week, mention of an apartment, etc.

OOOOK damn chill out what the hell is wrong with you, its not like I committed a major crime by making a mistake.

a typical week. hmmm..that's an interesting question.

monday: go to school from 11 to 9. come home and sleep
tuesday: go to school from 10:30 to 6 and play some Magic and yugioh
wed: i cook a wonderful mean and put it under a chair and lock myself in a cupboard. run for the rest of the day.
thurs: try to challenge strangers to a duel in magic
fri: rub some gravel on my head and start puching at an imginary opponent.
sat and sun: pray and fast. rub some more dirt on my head.

Lol, I think your cousin is exaggerating a little. I'm pretty certain that's not how a typical Columbia student spends his/her week.

When it boils down to the basics, there's really nothing like the "typical" college student anywhere. Statistics do a disservice to those who are not like the "majority".

Monday: Eat
Tuesday: Sleep
Wendsday: I don't have any recollection of what happens to me on Wendsdays:
Thursday: Escape Jail
Friday: Hang out in the bathroo,
Saturday: Bounce a ball against the wall
Sunday: Rest and recover for the next week.

MWF:
Classes: 9-10, 11-12, 2-3

T:
Classes: 9-1

R:
Class: 11-1

I'm in just one club and it doesn't take very much of my time. I do not have a job and any other time commitments.

dhl3's post sounds really crazy...

M Class 9-9
T Sleep, workout, study (maybe, usually not)
W Class 3-10
T Sleep, workout, party
F Sleep, workout
S Sleep, party (or study if I have a ton of work, like I do now)
S Sleep, study

Monday: class 9-11, office hours for club 11-1 (lunch in there somewhere), work 1-5, 5:15 meeting for club, 6-7 class
Tuesday: office hours for club 12-2 and lunch, class 2-3:15, work 3:30-5, dinner between 5 and 6, 6:30-9:20 lab
Wednesday: class 9-11, office hours for club 11-2 (or last minute lab report writing), lab 2-5, dinner between 5 and 6, 6-7 class, 9-10 watch LOST

Saturday: sleep in from night of partying until 1 pm, get up and chill around the dorm for a few hours, eat sometime or the other, at night either go out nad party, or as was the case tonight, go to walmart at midnight and then waffle house and get back around 2 am
Sunday: sleep in, get up and actually do homework, laundry, and a number of other chores and errands, every other week meeting for club 5-7

I'd say I get about, eh, 7.5 hours on average during the week and about 10 on the weekends. For a while I was only getting like 5 at night in the week because I was depressed and sleeping all day and ****, but now I'm working on getting closer to 8.

Nothing like that...even when I was still in BME and doing homework for 4-5 hours every day.

This quarter I have:

Mon - class 9:30-10:45, break, class 12:30-1:45, lunch/break, class 4:30-6:30, dinner, whatever needs to be done, sleep

Tues - class 10-11:50, lunch/break, class 2-3:15, break, class 4:30-6:30, dinner, whatever needs to be done, sleep

Wed - class 9:30-10:45, break, class 12:30-1:45, lunch, whatever needs to be done, dinner, whatever needs to be done, sleep

Thu - class 10-11:50, lunch/break, class 2-3:15, break, class 4:30-6:30, dinner, whatever needs to be done, sleep

Fri - class 9:30-10:45, break, class 12:30-1:45, lunch, whatever needs to be done, dinner, whatever needs to be done, sleep

Weekends for me aren't very structured. I just make sure to get everything done for classes and then do whatever sounds good at the time.

This is my first quarter in Finance, though, and I'm taking a full load...so I don't know how much of my free time will be taken up by studying and homework...but like I said before, it'll be nothing like your cousin's schedule.

Well I suppose if you actually spend all of Saturday and Sunday sleeping, you would have a pretty messed up schedule. A lot of my classmates will do things like stay up all night one night working on something, then go to sleep at 4 in the afternoon and sleep until the next morning, or sleep 4 hours at night and then take a 2 hour nap in the middle of the day sometime. I need about 9 hours of sleep a night to not feel tired, so I make a point of going to bed sometime between 12-1am every night, and then I usually get up between 9:30 & 10 the next morning.

This term, my schedule is as follows:

Monday: work 11am-1pm, lunch, class 3pm-10pm, dinner, then usually nothing until I go to sleep
Tuesday: class 9:30am-3:30pm, lunch/dinner, homework/errands/etc.
Wednesday: work 11am-3pm, lunch, meeting 5:30pm-6:30pm, class 7pm-10pm, dinner
Thursday: meeting 9am-12:30pm, class 12:30pm-3:30pm, homework/etc.
Friday: work 11am-3pm, lunch, meeting 4pm - about 10-11pm, dinner
Saturday & Sunday: whatever needs to be done that didn't get done during the week (homework, grocery shopping, etc.)

Most of the meetings in the schedule are for group projects so I guess they get counted as homework time as well. I try to schedule homework so that I don't have to do any on one of the weekend days, but that doesn't always work out.
