do people in college still wear their hs letter jacket- if not, what do u do with it?

dang i dont think people would wear a HS weather jacket tho.. the ring yes jacket i would say no. i havent seen but i havent been at 4 year universities extensively. if u ever lose your ring just do what mkm56 said, get it replaced by the company. if they dont give you a discount for the replacement, im sure they would make you another. their business is customized rings.

I think I've seen 1 or 2 letter jackets on my entire campus, but then in college nobody cares what you wear, so it's not like people were talking about it or anything.

HS rings are okay, most people don't really notice.

Letter jackets - people notice and think to themselves "loser". They may not say it to your face in college but they'll definitely think it. There's even a Facebook group at my school called "Hey! youre in College - take off your ****ing letter jacket"

The worst is the kids whose letters are in Band, Speech, Academics, Drama and Choir, and are still wearing the letter jacket.

Years ago when it came time to get a HS class ring, I asked both my parents if they ever had worn theirs, they both said no. Best 90 bucks I never spent.

I never bought one, and I don't regret it. I had better things to spend $50-$400 on. Just about everyone in my family has graduated college (except for my college drop-out cousin who now sits at home all day because her mom thinks it's embarassing to have her work at McDonald's), so it's not that big a deal.

I'm guessing the pinky would be the gay finger..

im 20 and i think i might get one. anyone order one years after graduation?

Who buys those high school graduation rings anyways?

Wearing a varsity jacket from high school in college is just...well, pathetic.

^Those jackets cost a ****load of money, and they are good quality. /Caring/ if somebody wears one, or not wearing yours just because you think it is 'pathetic', now /that/ is pathetic.

I think I would retaliate to that ****ing Facebook group by writing, "Hey! You're in college! Get a life!" And maybe learn how to spell on the side...

I bought my class ring for 425 and I don't wear it. I don't plan to wear it in college either, but I don't entirely regret my purchase because:
- I'm the first in the family to graduate high school.
- I didn't go to Homecoming, Prom, nor did I buy a yearbook, senior class pictures, et al.

So my ring is practically my only physical memory of high school, and I like it that way. I really hated my school.

Besides, the ring is kind of gaudy.

in that case, it's a good idea to get the ring, why didn't u get the senior yearbook?

The yearbook was pretty ugly and had a ton of mistakes in it (the staff is barely literate) but I am beginning to regret my decision considering that my friends took up half the book. :(

I might buy a copy over the summer since there are about a hundred left (not much school spirit goes for every student, not just me).

I wear my ring everyday.

that's the spirit..i wear mine to special events. its more about pride than anything.

I'm interested in why these people are any worse than those who lettered in sports.

i like my class ring. i take it off only to shower. and people know when i go places (mainly when i'm buying something and handing over the cash or plastic) that i went to immaculate heart. like i was at an art museum, buying a ticket, and the museum worker said she also went to my school. and the guy at the music store told me his ex-girlfriend did. it's a connection thing, i guess, but only if you have a very distinct ring, like mine. it's not your typical class ring. and i plan on wearing it for a long, long time.

I wouldn't wear it. It may get made fun of. And high school isn't too hard to graduate from, it's like hanging a HS diploma in your office. Definitely don't wear your letter jacket. I know in some high schools it's the thing to do, but at college it'll get you clowned.
