Essays/Recs:

Recommendations should be all good as all my teachers like me. My essays should be good as well.

I am sorry this is so long. If something doesn't matter or is too much, please inform me and I will gladly remove it to make this post shorter. I will be submitting my research work to Intel/Siemens (it is on organic photovoltaics--my focus is on inverted devices) but am not sure how it will fare. Thanks in advance!

Wow. This is incredible; nothing seems to be missing from your application. From the application, there’s really no basis on which HYPS could reject you, and Duke Vandy Cornell even less so. The only thing that could hold you back is your essay- not because it’s not good, but with stats like these, your essay may not be up to par with the rest of your application. That said, the essay comment is based on speculation… You might have a spectacular essay! After all, you seem like a VERY bright student with multidimensional talents.

I will caution you this: there are many applicants who have similar applications to yours. While I strongly doubt that any colleges will reject you off the bat, there is still a big chance you may not cut it simply because of external factors and the amount of people applying. I can guarantee your application will be considered and debated, and your chances of admission are as good as any other student in the nation at HYPS. The rest of the schools are targets.

Good job man. One of the most impressive applications, puts you at the top of the admissions pool this year.

Thank you for your input–made my day better :D

You have covered all the bases. However, there will be thousands other applicants with just as impressive qualifications as yous at HYPSM and others. It is like the NBA lottery system, even if the weight is in your favor, you still need to be lucky.

Good luck.

Everything is perfect with your application, I’m sure you’ll be accepted in at least one of the schools listed. Anyway, frankly there are a lot of applicants like you, especially in the Asian pool, so it could be a crapshoot anyway in HYPS. I suggest you to apply in all of them and see 'cause you’re a really really strong candidate and you’ll end up somewhere great. Just pick up a safety where you’d like to go.
Good luck, but I don’t think you need this with your stats.

Chance me back? I feel sick compared with you. http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1370677-please-chance-me-ivies-i-promise-ill-chance-anyone-back.html</a></p>

You have a really solid shot, but remember, there will be plenty of applicants with stats very similar to yours. Just be certain you write strong essays and with a little bit of faith, you should succeed. I would be shocked if you didn’t get admitted to at least a couple of your picks. HYPS are always going to be a lottery, but you have strong stats that match the profile of admitted students. Also, your awards and EC’s are very focused and impressive, which will help. I wish you the very best of luck, you’ve got a VERY strong application!

Chance me, perhaps? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1370726-chance-recommend.html</a></p>

Thank you for your input everyone! Waiting for August 1st when college apps come out…

If you write decent essays you should definitely be good to go for Cornell, Duke and Vandy. HYPSM are always unpredictable however

High school students have no idea how competitive these schools are.

HYPSM-High Reach
Duke-Mid Reach
Cornell-Low Reach
Vanderbilt=Match

Please apply to some safeties and not only top 20 schools.

I know people with the same stats that got into duke!
Great job!

You have solid shots at all of your schools, but from there, it just depends on luck. I would say good chances at Duke, Cornell and Vanderbilt, but HYPSM it really depends on the luck of the draw. Good Luck!
Chance me back?

Ill say likely at Cornell and vanderbilt, the rest are tossups.
